00:00The profiling of Filipino workers in legitimate POGOs is in order to help the DOLE with information

00:07it needs for the right type of intervention to provide them when their places of work

00:12shut down by the end of the year.

00:15To help them in their transition from POGO work, a special job fair is scheduled for

00:21October exclusively for them, as our Noel Talacay reports.

00:28Profiling of Filipino workers from legitimate Philippine Offshore Gaming Operation or POGOs

00:34still ongoing.

00:35This was announced by the Department of Labor and Employment or DOLE today.

00:40According to its data, there are more than 50 legal POGO companies operating in the country.

00:46Some are coming from National Capital Region or NCR, which has the most number of POGOs,

00:51followed by the Central, Visayas, and Region 4.

00:55However, some POGO companies are still yet to submit its list of Filipino workers.

01:00Leguesma once again stressed the purpose of the profiling, saying this is to determine

01:06what form of intervention that his agency can provide to Filipino POGO workers.

01:12To see what type of intervention they should receive from DOLE, one would be employment

01:20facilitation or referral to existing vacancies.

01:23Secondly, possible availment of livelihood projects, which is also part of DOLE's program.

01:30And thirdly, we also would like to complement it with possible upskilling, retooling of

01:36our affected IGL workers.

01:38Since the agency has now data or profile of every Filipino POGO workers, Leguesma confirmed

01:45that in the first week of October, special job fair will be conducted just for the Filipino

01:51workers from POGO, or currently known as Internet Gaming License or IGLs.

01:57Livelihood programs will also be offered to those who want to venture in business or self-employment.

02:04We hope that we'll be able to provide them the necessary services dun sa kanilang kakayahan

02:12ata yung kanilang kasama din siguro yung preference nila dun sa kanilang gusto malipatan kung sila

02:19lilipat ng trabaho o pagtatayo ng kanilang sariling livelihood.

02:22To recall, during the 3rd State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand Marquez, Jr.,

02:28he declared a total ban on all POGO operations in the country following reports of POGO-related

02:34crimes.

02:35Meanwhile, the Secretary also announced that there are two special job fairs scheduled

02:40this year focusing on transportation and logistic and tourism job opportunities.

02:46He added that fresh graduates are also welcome.

02:50In coordination with, this is the one which will be held in the World Trade Center for

02:57the transportation and logistics, and then the other one will be a coordination job fair

03:05with the Department of Tourism.

03:09Currently the DALE has recorded over 2 million jobs available on its job website which is

03:15philjobnet.gov.ph

03:18The Department of Labor and Employment has already profiled almost 27,000 out of over

03:2440,000 Filipino POGO workers in the country.
