00:00Good afternoon to all of us. Here is the weather update for the day of Wednesday, September 19, 2024.
00:08For now, we are not being monitored by any typhoons or low-pressure areas here in our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:15Southwest monsoons or low-pressure winds are continuously blowing here in the province of Luzon and Visayas.
00:23Because of this, we expect continuous showers of rain here in the province of Sambales and Bataan.
00:30We also expect occasional rains here in the Ilocos Region.
00:34Heavy rains are expected here in Metro Manila,
00:39as well as in Occidental, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Calabarzon, and Central Luzon.
00:48For the province of Visayas and Mindanao, we expect heavy rains,
00:54isolated rain showers, and high chances of rain in the afternoon and evening due to localized thunderstorms.
01:04We can also see in our satellite imagery that we are full of clouds.
01:10This is why we are continuously monitoring if there will be a low-pressure area in the next few days.
01:18Let's go to our forecast for tomorrow here in Luzon.
01:21We can see that the western section of northern Luzon will continue to experience rains,
01:27just like the southwest monsoon.
01:30But we can also see that the southwest monsoon or low-pressure winds are weakening,
01:35which is why we can already experience a clear weather here in Metro Manila.
01:39But let's remember that the chances of rain in the afternoon and evening are still high,
01:44just like localized thunderstorms.
01:47Temperature per area is 26 to 30 degrees Celsius.
01:51It will be around 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.
01:54For Baguio, we expect 18 to 23 degrees Celsius.
01:57Metro Manila and Legazpi, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:02In Tagaytay, it will be 23 to 30 degrees Celsius.
02:07For Palawan, they will still experience heavy rain showers,
02:11just like the southwest monsoon.
02:15But if we can see, for Visayas and Mindanao,
02:18they will already experience a clear weather,
02:21but there are chances of isolated rain showers and rains in the afternoon and evening,
02:26just like localized thunderstorms.
02:29Temperature per Calayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa,
02:32between 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:35For Iloilo, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:38For Tacloban, 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:42Here in Cebu, we also expect 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:46Cagayan de Oro, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:49Zamboanga, 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
02:52And Davao, 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.
02:57We still have high gale warnings here in the western coast of Pangasinan,
03:01Zambales, western coast of Bataan,
03:04northwestern coast of Occidental Mindoro,
03:07western coast of Palawan.
03:09So we are warning our fellow countrymen
03:12that it is dangerous to cross the so-called coastal waters.
03:17Earlier at 5 p.m., we issued a weather advisory,
03:20this is the end of the southwest monsoon,
03:22so we expect that today until tomorrow,
03:26we will experience moderate to heavy rains
03:29here in Zambales, Bataan, and Pangasinan.
03:33Tomorrow, until Saturday afternoon,
03:36we will see that the axis of the southwest monsoon will shift
03:41and this will affect Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan.
03:46Because of the continuous shift of the axis of the southwest monsoon,
03:50by Saturday afternoon until Sunday noon,
03:53we will experience extreme northern luzon,
03:56particularly Batanes and Baboyan Islands,
03:59and Ilocos Norte, moderate to heavy rains.
04:03So we are warning our fellow countrymen
04:06about the possibility of flash floods and landslides.
04:12For the time being, for the next three days,
04:15we will see that Baguio City will still experience
04:19heavy rains by Saturday.
04:23But for Metro Manila and Legazpi,
04:26throughout the three days, their weather will be favorable.
04:31Temperature for Metro Manila, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
04:35Baguio City, 17 to 23 degrees Celsius.
04:38For Legazpi, we expect 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
04:44For Visayas, we expect clear skies,
04:49except for isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorms,
04:54especially in the afternoon and night.
04:56Temperature for Metro Cebu, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
05:00Iloili City, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
05:03And Tacloban City, 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
05:08For Mindanao, we expect generally fair weather.
05:13Temperature for Metro Dabao, 26 to 34 degrees Celsius.
05:17Cagandeoro, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
05:20And Zamboanga City, 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.
