00:00The team with everything to play for the Mets absolutely looked to be riding on that motivation

00:09It was a thumping over the Nationals here for our guy Parker.

00:17They're starting to build a bit of momentum towards October and they do it in dominating

00:21fashion.

00:22They absolutely did.

00:24Now, granted, you thought they would win because the Nationals are dead in the water, but take

00:27a look at Tyler McGill.

00:28They're 4-5 on the season and ERA lowered to 4.08, but he was great last night.

00:34When you just need to stack up wins against inferior opponents, you still have to pitch

00:37well because, as we say, the other team is getting a paycheck on the other side.

00:41He went six innings, one earned run, only two hits, two bases on balls, four strikeouts

00:46yesterday.

00:47Actually, excuse me.

00:48Didn't give up an earned run yesterday, which is awesome in that spot, but you take a look

00:51at the offense, right?

00:52Fourteen hits overall.

00:54This is the thing with the New York Mets.

00:55I don't think they can pitch their way into the playoffs, which they currently have one

00:59of the final seeds in the wildcard race, but I do think they can hit their way into the

01:03playoffs, which is what they did last night.

01:05Once you get to the playoffs, anything can happen, but the more interesting thing with

01:08the New York Mets, which typically the Phillies are doing these type of things late in the

01:12season, playing your best baseball, fighting your way into a wildcard spot, and still having

01:17that edge of being in playoff mode for an entire month by the time you enter into the

01:22playoffs.

01:23The numbers are on the rise for the Mets, 83 and 68.

01:25This is one of those seasons that we thought, you know what?

01:27The Mets taking a step back, sold their expensive players, got some prospects back, didn't spend

01:32a lot of money in the free agent market.

01:34Let's just evaluate and see what we have this year before we get free agency the next season.

01:38Do we want to bring the polar bear back?

01:40Pete Alonzo, do we want to let him go?

01:41Do we want to put our assets elsewhere?

01:43And now you find yourself with the Mets.

01:44They're going to make the playoffs here.

01:46They got some really good chemistry in that locker room, doves.

01:49No doubt about it.
