00:00Welcome to Skip Counting Practice!
00:09You may have already learned how to do some skip counting.
00:13Today we are going to learn more about skip counting with bigger numbers such as fives
00:17and tens.
00:19Skip counting is very useful to help us count things faster.
00:23Let me show you what I mean.
00:28Here we have some balls.
00:29If we wanted to count all these balls we would count them by ones.
00:33We have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and so on.
00:38That is one way to count, but it is not as efficient as skip counting.
00:42You may have already learned to count by twos.
00:47Let's try counting these by twos.
00:49We have 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14.
00:55We have 14 balls in all.
00:57This was a lot faster than counting by ones.
01:01Now we can take a look at counting by fives.
01:08There are quite a few balls here to count.
01:10To make this easier we will count by fives.
01:13The balls are already grouped into sets of five.
01:16Can you count by fives and tell me how many balls there are?
01:29If we count by fives we get 5, 10, 15, 20, 25.
01:34There are 25 balls here.

01:40Here we have a hundreds chart.
01:42You probably recognize this chart and have seen it before.
01:45This chart can help us with skip counting.
01:48When looking at this chart we can see lots of different patterns.
01:52For example, right now all the numbers in blue are multiples of 2.
01:57So if we started skip counting by 2 we would land on only the blue numbers.
02:02In this chart we also see other patterns.
02:05For example, the blue numbers are all even numbers.
02:10If we look here at the 2 we can see that as we go down the chart we add 10 each time.
02:16Isn't that cool?
02:19There are so many patterns to see when using this chart.
02:23These charts are awesome so I hope you use them.
02:28Now if we wanted to skip count by tens we would look at the column on the right.
02:33Let's skip count by 10 so say it with me.
02:3610, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100.
