00:00The decision to allow Halal to be accepted in the Arab world, especially in Dubai, which
00:17is one of the main trading centers in the world, allows us to expand the aspect of trade, especially
00:28in Malaysia, by suppressing the Halal industry.
00:31I want to touch on this from a slightly different point of view.
00:37It gives an image that the Islamic economy is no longer based on financial institutions
00:48that previously dominated the Islamic economy from the point of rejection of the Riba system
00:54and there is a success that has been recorded.
00:57But if we look at it from the point of view of Sharia, there is an effort to expand the
01:05ecosystem so that the goal must be achieved.
01:09The Halal industry will affect every farmer, fisherman, small business, SME, even shops,
01:17because it can ensure greater participation.
01:24For me, in achieving the economic goals and the spirit of Sharia, it must affect almost
01:34the entire population.
01:36Now may I take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to the support by many
01:43governments throughout the world and my exchanges with leaders.
01:48Almost all these countries, all these leaders have given special attention to the Halal
01:56industry and their recognition to the role of Malaysia, the Malaysian government and
02:03the authorities in promoting this and seeking our cooperation and collaboration to enhance
02:11trade investments that include the function of what is termed as Halal and the Halal industry.
02:20This is, to my mind, a remarkable feat achieved by Madrid and the government because this
02:27is a way we can explore the meaning of Halal and why Islam recognizes the importance of
02:38Halal, be it in the food product or cosmetics or any other related fields.
02:45I am quite excited to be here and I told Deputy Prime Minister and also to Zafrul, if it is
02:54just any other ordinary function, I would have certainly deputized, but because of the
03:00importance it plays, the support by almost 66 countries present today.
03:09The enormous economic potential and particularly the advantage to general Malaysians of all
03:17religious creeds is also important.
03:19I mean the Halal industry has participated, as you see in this exhibition, by Muslims,
03:24Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, all participate as true Malaysians ensuring success of the
03:31Halal industry.
03:32And therefore, I must say, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you very much.
