00:00Hello everyone, this is Paul Branson Reviews, and so much more.

00:05Today I'm bringing you a review of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

00:10Now I'm surprised they just simply didn't call it Beetlejuice Returns.

00:15But ah, whatever, maybe the next one will be Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

00:19Why not?

00:20But I actually like this one better than the first one.

00:24It cost a hundred million to make, and you can see it in the production.

00:29The music, the cinematography, everyone that worked on this should be very proud of themselves.

00:34They even have an actress that was in, she played Wednesday in the Wednesday TV series

00:41on Netflix.

00:42Now if you don't know what Wednesday is, Wednesday is a name of a person in the Addams Family.

00:49So when the Addams Family came out on TV many moons ago, they made a couple movies, they

00:55tried to bring it back with other TV series, and then they figured we'll just focus on

01:00the one character Wednesday, and they were bringing back a season two, and she's a wonderful

01:05actress.

01:06Gina, can't pronounce her last name, I don't want to, yeah I can't pronounce her last name,

01:11but her first name is Gina, J-E-N-N-A, and she's a wonderful actress, and she's in this

01:16Beetlejuice movie, and she's perfect for the role.

01:19She's absolutely perfect for the role of playing Winoma Ryder's daughter, Winoma Ryder's,

01:27if I'm saying her name correctly, I have a little bit of a pronunciation problem, and

01:31then of course Michael Keaton is back as Beetlejuice, and Tim Burton is back as directing it.

01:37Now I decided to look up Tim Burton, I thought he wrote Beetlejuice, but he didn't, but he

01:41did write one of my favorite movies, Edward Scissorhands.

01:45He produced it, directed it, and wrote it, and I was like, wow.

01:50And Winoma Ryder was in that movie as well, and Johnny Depp, so if you have not seen Edward

01:55Scissorhands, I highly recommend it, it's a fantastic movie, it's one of my favorites.

02:00I cry every time I see that movie, because I just find it sad, I'm not going to say anymore,

02:06Johnny Depp is also in Edward Scissorhands.

02:11So finally, since 1988, when the first Beetlejuice came out, and Tim Burton directed it, I honestly

02:18didn't like it the first time I watched it.

02:20Have you ever watched a movie and not like it the first time you watched it?

02:24Then I watched it a second time, and I grew to like it, and then I watched it a third

02:28time, and for some reason I really enjoyed it.

02:31It brings me back to going into theaters, watching a movie with friends, maybe it's

02:35because of the hype, and the hype kind of tears you down, because, you know, they hype

02:40it up so much, afterwards you go in and you just feel that you were disappointed, I honestly

02:45don't know.

02:46But whatever the case may be, I went into a packed theater to see Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice,

02:53it was packed.

02:55People were talking about the first one, how the two main characters in the first one are

02:59not in this one, and they explain that in the second one.

03:03Do you have to see the first one to see the second one?

03:06Not really, but it would be kind of nice if you did, you know, because there is a little

03:12gap between them, so yeah, I guess in a way you should see the first one before you see

03:17the second one, but honestly I don't think you have to, because as you know nowadays

03:22they always bring pre-sequels, you know, they put a movie out and they go, we'll pre-sequel

03:27back to the time of when it originally started, so it could be known that people will watch

03:33the second one, then watch the first one.

03:35In the first one a couple die, and they're not in this one, and they explain it, so I'm

03:40not really giving anything away, a couple die and they have to stay in this house that

03:44they bought for 120 years or something like that, and the story was about them and Beetlejuice

03:51and a family moving in, because they were scaring out all the families, then this one

03:55family came in, and Lenoma Ryder was a very young, young teenager, and she had a mother

04:02and father, and she could see ghosts, so that's what the first one was about, and obviously

04:08Beetlejuice came in the picture, and stuff happened, and in this one you see Beetlejuice

04:14in the underground world, so I like the way they do this one, like right away you have

04:19the old-fashioned music, and even the way they do the worms, the worms are the same

04:25way they did them in the first movie, they didn't change what the worms look like, and

04:30I actually like that, so if you know, see this is the thing, if you haven't seen the

04:34first one you wouldn't know the worms I'm talking about, but if you see a lot of advertisement

04:38for it, it shows pictures of these worms, so the special effects were actually really

04:43nice and old-fashioned, and there was a really nice 80s feel to it, and gothic feel to it.

04:49Winona Ryder appears first in the movie, so right away when the movie starts it plays

04:54the music, it plays the old-fashioned music that I like, and it was just really cool,

05:02then it goes to Winona Ryder talking to two people, and there's an audience, so now it's

05:08many years later, and she's used her gift to help people with ghosts, and she's big,

05:17she's huge, then later on you find out she was married, and her husband died, and her

05:24daughter and her don't get along, her daughter's in private school, and I would have liked

05:30them to show the private school a little bit more though, they didn't really show too much

05:34of it, and they kind of already showed the scene, what it was about in the trailer, so

05:41I don't recommend watching the trailer, so what happens here is as she's talking to them,

05:47all of a sudden she sees Beetlejuice in the audience, and she goes berserk, berserk, scared

05:53to death, and then she runs into the bathroom, now you find out she's dating the manager

06:00that manages her show, then all of a sudden her mother contacts her and says her father

06:06passed away, so now they have to go home for the funeral, because they lived in that

06:10house, so after all the years and all the experiences, they never moved from that house,

06:18and that's when they mention something about the two other ghosts, how they moved on, now

06:23the daughter's really mad at her mother, really mad at her mother, and the dialogue to this

06:32is perfection, it is just perfection, I like this one way better than I liked the first

06:38one, and I think Michael Keaton himself said in an interview he likes the second one better

06:44than the first one, maybe just a little bit or a lot, but I know that he said something

06:48that he really liked the second one, he really enjoyed doing it, and he was glad he did it,

06:54there's no confirm for a third one, Tim Burton says, well I can't wait another 32 years to

07:02do it, I think Harrison Ford said that in a movie a long time ago too, when he did Indiana

07:06Jones, he says, well we can't keep on waiting, I can't do it again, and he did do it again,

07:11and unfortunately the last Indiana Jones movie wasn't that good, it might grow with age,

07:18because I think people that are older might appreciate the last Indiana Jones movie, so Tim

07:25Burton, he might be in or out, I kind of hope Tim Burton writes the last one and directs it,

07:31that would be kind of cool, I'd like him to see, because he has that nice gothic look to his films,

07:37like he did with Michael Keaton as Batman in 89, so that being said the dialogue though was written

07:44by I believe two or three people, and they did a fantastic job, even the editor editing this was

07:50incredible, now it has a 7.1 out of 10 on IMBD, and in Rotten Tomatoes it has a 76% right now,

08:00but those numbers can always change, so the first Beelzebub is slightly higher, but the thing is,

08:06this one's a really good story, so you have them going home to the husband that passed,

08:11and you have something going, now you go to the underworld, so it goes to the underworld and to

08:16the normal world, do they both collide together in a really cool way, yes they do, and as they're

08:22in their hometown, the mother and daughter have this amazing conversation, where she gets mad,

08:27and she finds a boy that she likes in this town, and there was a lot of surprises here,

08:35and even the ending scared me, it was funny, it was serious, it was really well put together,

08:40I personally give this an 8.5 out of 10, I loved it way more than the first one,

08:45and I really like how times changed, but still stayed the same in a way of it feeling like an

08:5380s movie, you got to check it out in theaters, it's a wonder to see special effects and everything,

08:58I'm proud of everyone that worked on this, alright everyone, bye for now, and check out

09:06check him out, he's fantastic, bye for now, and have an incredible day, 8.5 out of 10,

09:11a must see in my opinion in the theater, and as I left the theater too, I still had popcorn,

09:17so I put my popcorn down when I was watching it, and that's a good movie to me, because I don't

09:23want to hear the munching of my popcorn, I heard other people's munching of their popcorn,

09:26and they loved it, when I walked out I had talked to a few people, a lot of people liked it,

09:32one person still liked the first one better, but that's just saying, alright everyone,
