00:52This is my first convention ever. Thank you all for coming out tonight.
00:57This is my first convention ever. Thank you all for coming out tonight.
01:02You guys are amazing. You guys are superheroes.
01:07You guys are amazing. You guys are superheroes.
01:12My name is Paul. I play the character of Malcolm.
01:23My name is Jim Grax and I play the character of Bruce.
01:33Hi everybody. I play the character of Mary and I play the character of J'onn.
01:42My name is Jack Guzman, and I was the Black Ranger.
01:51I'm Jessica Cran, I was Alyssa and Brittany, and my name is Michael.
02:00I don't know if you all know, but this is a large follow-up to a series we've had for a long time,
02:04so I want to introduce you to your cast.
02:06Yeah!
02:10I'm going to ask you guys some questions, and I'm going to do what I do best,
02:14so I'm going to give you some questions in writing.
02:16So, I'm going to ask you guys,
02:18what do you think really makes you think you can work with Jamie Collins?
02:22Because I know you guys have gotten on set with a lot of work before,
02:25but what do you think really makes you think you can work with Jamie Collins?
02:30So, Jessica, go ahead.
02:33Um, I actually didn't know what I was auditioning for.
02:37I knew it was for Power Rangers, but I thought it was for like a walk-on role or an extra or something.
02:43It's my very first TV audition.
02:45And so, I was the casting director of the full feature office, and it was like,
02:49um, you're here to audition for Power Rangers.
02:52But I was like, oh, no.
02:55And I got super nervous, and I thought, who would be auditioning for that?
02:59And I looked, and here I am.
03:02Yes.
03:06For me, I think the key moment that I hit it here,
03:09I think the casting was, uh, I don't know if you guys are aware,
03:13but I've had Kendall watch my girlfriend for three years after the show.
03:17So, for me, we were in San Francisco,
03:20and some people just came up to us, and I don't know,
03:23the way they approached me in Rhode Island was the first time,
03:26and I was like, man, there's people who want to see that.
03:32So, I never was an amazing show cast,
03:36and I've already been running for 10 years for my 10th season.
03:41But I guess what it really can be, um,
03:45the impact of Power Ranger and the community,
03:48which is you all here.
03:50It was my first production.
03:52I thought it was an amazing job.
03:54I'm talking to the princess. I'm talking to the show.
03:57But when I came to my first work in 2018,
04:00and saw the family, um, with all of you who came together,
04:06that's really what Power Rangers is truly, truly all about.
04:11Yeah.
04:12Yeah!
04:17I hit me in the ear on set.
04:19Eric Beck stressed that one of the creatures from season one
04:23literally hit me.
04:24It was my first day on set.
04:27It was a great, great, wonderful experience.
04:30So, yeah, I got hit in the ear.
04:37Yeah.
04:38For me, I had to pay a commission to my agent.
04:44That's the first time I get hit.
04:46No, actually,
04:49to be serious,
04:51is, uh, I got, I started getting fan letters,
04:54and one of them was from Spain.
04:57You know, I said,
04:58Master Warbler, what if you can't force?
05:02And I wrote back,
05:03I'm a lost Californian.
05:06No, he went back.
05:08Yeah, that was,
05:09I realized that this show has a huge impact
05:12throughout the world.
05:14So, thank you guys.
05:17Yeah.
05:18Yeah.
05:21Mine is a little long.
05:23I'm just going to keep it short.
05:24So, it hit me that I
05:27ended up with the, uh,
05:29first, I think it was one of my, like,
05:30fourth or fifth callback for the show,
05:33and it was just down to me,
05:35and it was like, well,
05:36um,
05:37and, you know, just my acting abilities
05:39and the strength of it all.
05:41But during my, my callback,
05:44or my, uh, commission,
05:46um, there were like 10 of them,
05:48or, or all the producers,
05:50all the directors,
05:51just everyone.
05:52It was like a group full of people.
05:53And after,
05:55and I think one of the,
05:56he was asking,
05:57hey, do you have a video?
05:59And I was like,
06:00yeah, why?
06:02And he was,
06:03he said,
06:04you were the hostess at the restaurant,
06:06um,
06:07that I went to
06:08last night,
06:09or the next day,
06:10or the weekend,
06:11whatever,
06:12and he said,
06:13you were so great,
06:14you were so sweet,
06:15and you just happened to be a friend,
06:16and he stood at the table
06:17with a group full of,
06:18you know,
06:1910 beautiful girls
06:21celebrating their birthday,
06:23and the whole restaurant was empty,
06:25and I walked into it,
06:26and I'm like,
06:27oh,
06:28that's where we go,
06:29that's where we meet.
06:30So we,
06:31so that's our interaction
06:32for two days
06:33before this fifth callback,
06:35and I was like,
06:36oh, wow,
06:37this is all so destined to be,
06:39like,
06:40all this is going to be.
06:42So that's when I really knew
06:44that I'm loved by him.
06:45This guy's my amazing captain
06:47of the Elizabethan League.
06:58How do you feel
06:59saying you're driving back
07:00into this world?
07:01Yeah,
07:02it's fancy stuff,
07:03but I know,
07:04after she,
07:05she said yes
07:06to the whole thing.
07:07Because we knew
07:08all of us knew,
07:09as many of us did.
07:11So,
07:12before we talk about
07:13and found me on Skype a couple of years ago.
07:17So, after all, for some reason,
07:19I haven't been on Skype for a few years.
07:21And she found me, and every once in a while,
07:23I'm like, hey! I'm like, hey!
07:25Hey, Lexis.
07:27Thank you for being here.
07:29Thank you for being here.
07:31Thank you for being here.
07:33Thank you for being here.
07:35Just quickly,
07:37I think my favorite part
07:39of being a character
07:41is when we started training
07:43when we started training
07:45when we started doing stunt training
07:47and martial arts training
07:49and martial arts training
07:51and kind of went, oh, hey,
07:53this is real.
07:55You know, you're training here,
07:57and I just feel like a superhero.
08:07Well, I,
08:09you know, I was involved in a show
08:11and, you know,
08:13I actually auditioned
08:15for the Birdman, which came out
08:17in September.
08:19No, I didn't really
08:21do a lot of acting.
08:23I got into
08:25doing dubbing,
08:27which was a pretty big issue
08:29coming up until
08:31I was a four-year-old.
08:33And
08:35they didn't,
08:37you know, I didn't really
08:39do some of the voices
08:41and things like that,
08:43so I called in Scott
08:45and he said,
08:47can you do this voice for this guy?
08:49And I said, hey,
08:51he's a monster.
08:53A monster here, a monster there.
08:55You're a monster, you're a monster.
08:57And I said,
08:59all right,
09:01I'll do it.
09:03And I started playing
09:05and I ended up being a monster.
09:07If you want to move
09:09to the next question,
09:11let's all have a glass of wine.
09:13Let's hear it for all the great
09:14Jewish law enforcement agencies.
09:16Let's give them a round of applause.
09:18Yeah.
09:20Woo-hoo!
09:22Scott, thank you so much
09:24for having me here today.
09:26And the thing is, when you look at the table
09:28and you see the comments and the scores
09:30and everything, what's it like having
09:32a man come to your table and just
09:34do the hard work?
09:36I love you so much for that person.
09:38I think it's gonna be a reward to have you.
09:40It's heavyweight tennis.
09:42What's up with that?
09:46It's indescribable.
09:48I'm a writer, so I write a lot.
09:50But it's just
09:52really,
09:54it's very moving.
09:56And you know,
09:58after each day with you,
10:00I think about
10:02so many things.
10:04Thank you for sharing your hearts with us.
10:06It's great.
10:16I'm already tearing up
10:18just from listening to Allison talk.
10:24It is so, yeah, it's been like
10:26it's been so amazing.
10:28Thank you so much.
10:40So I obviously didn't know
10:42anything about this or even
10:44understand what this is.
10:46And so when I said I wanted to come up
10:48I was like, alright, well, let's see what this is about.
10:50And I went to
10:52my followers and I looked at their
10:54photos and I could see
10:56what they're about.
10:58And what I realized is that we're all
11:00here as adults.
11:02Honoring and acknowledging
11:04our inner child.
11:06And healing ourselves.
11:24I have so much
11:26inner child healing
11:28because of you.
11:30Because of this connection.
11:32So thank you so much.
11:44Well, I just wanted to show you
11:46that villains
11:48are more powerful than they
11:50are sensitive.
11:52They have human emotions.
11:54That's a good lesson.
11:56No, it's a good lesson
11:58for any actor.
12:00When you play
12:02a villain
12:04you don't want to stay
12:06on the same
12:08level as a human being.
12:10You try to make a human being.
12:12I think it becomes more
12:14weak and scary.
12:16Anyways,
12:18I think
12:20what it makes me realize
12:22when I see someone is making
12:24a hell of a lot of work
12:26without much love
12:28and effort.
12:30It makes me think
12:32that what we do
12:34as actors,
12:36artists,
12:38doesn't go in vain.
12:40It means that
12:42we contribute to this world
12:44to be
12:46more beautiful
12:48or a little bit more
12:50nicer.
12:52Because people
12:54need to be inspired.
12:56So
12:58you must show your imagination
13:00and it will stay beautiful.
13:04Thank you guys.
13:10I also really want to say
13:12a word to Assassin's Creed.
13:16And my
13:18favorite thing to
13:20add on this is that
13:22you guys are
13:24behind this so much
13:26that we have
13:28thought about
13:30how the show goes.
13:32You are living,
13:34walking, breathing
13:36catalogs of our work
13:38and we love you for that.
13:40Because there are a lot of times
13:42when I would see this
13:44and it would remind me that
13:46oh, I said this to Tosca
13:48and I love it because it made me laugh again.
13:50So it's just like you guys represent
13:52all of us
13:54in that you are
13:56the memory banks of the show
13:58and we love you for that.
14:06I think what I know most is just
14:08so humble
14:10and honored.
14:12I loved
14:14my whole Assassin's Creed
14:16and my character
14:18in that year
14:20will be stuck in my
14:22memory forever.
14:25But then after that year
14:27it started to come to palms
14:29and meeting fans
14:31and yes, the gifts and the grief
14:33that we don't take for granted.
14:35You know, I have a place in my home
14:37where I have my gifts and there's times
14:39when, you know, I'm by myself
14:41or I'm lonely or unsure
14:43or
14:45I'm...
14:59You see us, you know, as actors
15:01on the show, as a mentor
15:03but we all have our moments
15:05and I feel
15:07like this convention
15:09is so much love
15:11that goes both ways.
15:13It's not just
15:15from you to us
15:17but the love that we feel for you
15:19and the gratitude
15:21that you give us more as well
15:23and to know that
15:25for these three days
15:27that we could just escape
15:29you know
15:31and come here
15:33and have this connection
15:35is such a blessing.
15:37Such a blessing for all of us.
15:49So I think it's
15:51kind of like what Danny said
15:53I'm more of that
15:55I see you guys and you bring back memories
15:57or you mention something and I'm like
15:59damn, I knew that and I was lost
16:01but as far as just your time
16:03I'm huge on time
16:05because the older I get, I realize that
16:07if you have 20 million, 50 million, whatever you have
16:09you can't buy time
16:11and for you guys to spend one minute
16:13or three days or 60 days
16:15building a costume or making a helmet
16:17or whatever it is, amazing.
16:19And I love it.
16:21There's a lot of you
16:23there's a lot of you
16:25and a lot of you can't get rid of it.
16:27I live in a studio apartment
16:29the size of this table
16:31so all the stuff you guys give me
16:33ends up in my mom's house.
16:35She's the one that's in the house.
16:41What I'm trying to do is that everyone said
16:43Alison said you could share your parts with us
16:45I think it's so beautiful
16:47but just to see the time that you guys
16:49all have sharing it with us
16:51and sharing it with the world
16:53your costume here, your Alyssa costume
16:55seeing you guys
16:57again and sharing your time
16:59it's so beautiful and it means so much
17:01it's so good to do it with such love.
17:09Sorry Alyssa
17:11What was your family's reaction
17:13when you told them
17:15it's not Alyssa?
17:17My parents
17:19were not happy.
17:23My mom said
17:25you're gonna leave grad school
17:27to be a cartoon character?
17:29I don't understand.
17:31When my parents were immigrants
17:33they came to the United States with nothing
17:35my dad literally had $30
17:37in his pocket
17:39he came out of Vietnam War
17:41and my mom came here as a nurse
17:43and they had nothing
17:45so they worked their tails off to send my brother
17:47and sister and I to school
17:49and so when I told her
17:51I'm gonna take a leave of absence from my graduate
17:53degree to be a cartoon character
17:55she didn't even know what that was
17:57she literally said I can't believe
17:59you're gonna leave grad school to be a cartoon character
18:01so
18:03she was pretty mad
18:05but then we sat down and watched the first episode
18:07together and she cried tears of joy
18:09and she was so proud of me
18:11she had all my toys
18:13in the back of her side table and actually
18:15there was even her office at the law school
18:17and every time I went home she would call
18:19the nurses, call the doctors, the doctors coming
18:21they'd come in her office
18:23she'd be like that's my daughter
18:25she was so proud
18:27she was my biggest fan
18:37I have an interesting family
18:39they love me like crazy
18:41and I love them but
18:43I'm kind of angry because honestly
18:45I don't think they realize what I've achieved yet in this business
18:47I've been an actor for 20 something years
18:49it's still been when I call them
18:51and I'm like hey guys I'm gonna be on such and such show
18:53are you gonna be at the beginning
18:55or the end
18:57because I really want to watch the whole thing
19:07his mom is so proud of him
19:11I can pick up a rock
19:13and she's like hi Bobby
19:19they just give me so much love
19:21I don't know when it's really gonna happen
19:25that's awesome
19:27that's really sweet
19:29my family
19:31they were so happy for me
19:33it was the beginning of January
19:35so I was still in Florida
19:37on Christmas vacation
19:39because they had hired
19:41another princess at first
19:43so I actually got an attendance
19:45at the job
19:47and on a Thursday I got a call
19:49my agent was like hey what are you doing
19:51looking for another princess?
19:53and I was like a princess is cute
19:55I never auditioned for Shay
19:57I auditioned for Toxica
19:59or Taylor
20:01or Toxica, Taylor
20:03over and over again
20:05so at first
20:07we were all kind of in shock
20:09so I came back to LA on a Friday
20:11in the morning
20:13I was filming as Princess Shay
20:15so it took us a little time to even realize
20:17what just happened
20:19not only that my life for that year
20:21never changed us
20:23we all work and practice
20:25all that kind of stuff
20:27but then 22, 23 years later
20:29we can still enjoy
20:31those moments
20:33it's pretty amazing
20:41I grew up in Texas
20:43with very nuts and bolts
20:45people who did not understand
20:47why I had to leave
20:49maybe I stayed in town
20:51had an airplane
20:53and went right back to Guatemala
20:55to chase that crazy heat
20:57that was so unfathomable
20:59to them
21:01but after I've been successful
21:03it's been a really fun thing
21:05to share with my family
21:07because then always
21:09this weird crazy thing
21:11that they just don't understand
21:13so now when I was in high school
21:15in Maryland
21:17in Texas
21:19I sent him a photo
21:21and he couldn't not
21:23stop smiling
21:25because it was the funnest thing
21:27sometimes you gotta smile
21:29in a good mood
21:31when you're filming
21:35when I was planning
21:37to film one day
21:39I was told
21:41one day you're going to make
21:43your movie
21:45and I was like
21:47no
21:49no
21:51you
21:53no
21:55no way
21:57no
21:59my mom
22:01later when I came to the States
22:03she stayed
22:05ended up staying with me
22:07a few weeks
22:09to be proud of any
22:11acting job that I got

23:07just letting me choose my own path
23:09you know
23:11it's just love from the beginning
23:13she doesn't know anything about the Power Rangers
23:15or she didn't get to know
23:17and she still doesn't really know
23:19she's like well I can't change that
23:21anyway
23:23the fact that she's the face of the movie
23:25lets me do what I wanted to do
23:27and make my own choices
23:29yeah
23:37say hello to the OGs
23:39yeah
23:43I was in the wrong
23:45he's license 18

24:05and Taylor got to
24:07well I got to film in
24:09the jet

24:13so they've always been very proud
24:15my siblings are way older than I am
24:17they think you're the best
24:19and their kids are in their
24:21late teens and 30s
24:23and I don't know
24:25if they ever really watched me
24:27my nephew came yesterday
24:29and got to meet a lot of you

24:39Love Horse now
24:41yeah
24:47Love Horse out there
24:49yeah
24:51well my story's a little different
24:55I'm a
24:57my mother was a refugee
25:01from what was then
25:03Yugoslavia
25:05it was Croatia
25:07it was Yugoslavia
25:09they were running from the Nazis
25:11and they invaded
25:13and my father
25:15my father's side of the family
25:17was in the show business
25:19my grandfather was a big star
25:21in a vodka
25:23for those of you who don't know what vodka is
25:25it's like a
25:27delight
25:29you have different acts
25:31from
25:33to the stage
25:37my grandfather was from Spain
25:39and they introduced flamenco dancing
25:41to America
25:43he was a big star as a vodka
25:45and he married a Sicilian girl
25:47which was sort of like
25:49at the time they were born
25:51beautiful corkscrews
25:55and they had children
25:57my father
25:59was the youngest
26:01of them
26:03his sister, my aunt Rita
26:05became a big movie star
26:07some of you may not have heard
26:09Rita Hayworth
26:11oh no, you don't need it
26:15and so
26:17when I decided to be an actor
26:19you know
26:21it's important
26:27I would like to say something
26:31you know, any actor, any artist
26:35whether it's a performer
26:37an artist, a singer, a writer
26:39an actor
26:43basically we do it
26:45it's not because of money or anything
26:47well as performers
26:49but for the most part
26:51there's something in us
26:53that needs to express something
26:55artistically
26:57and we hold it
26:59but it moves people
27:03and now when we come to these conventions
27:05you know
27:07I have somebody
27:09come up to me
27:11and say
27:13you voiced that monster in Nightmares
27:15I had nightmares
27:17because of that crazy monster
27:21and other people come up to me
27:23and say
27:25I had a really hard time
27:27I had a very hard time
27:29watching your show
27:31Halloween
27:33all together
27:35a really difficult time
27:39and you know
27:41for me when I was doing it
27:43I met most of you guys too
27:47it was a job of creating the acting
27:49of being able to make money as an actor
27:53don't want you to think about it
27:55in this context
27:57that we're actually
27:59some people
28:01that can enrich
28:03people's lives
28:05and obviously
28:07you guys
28:09that is an incredibly
28:11moving
28:13and powerful
28:15thing
28:17for all of us
28:19and
28:21I just want to thank you
28:23for enjoying
28:25what we do
28:27we all try to do the best we can
28:29it's nice to know you
28:31and some people say

28:35but I was moved to the toilets

31:55and it didn't work
31:57and we realized that we still

32:01and we all
32:03hit the ground to let some strength

33:49so I'm so happy
33:51but back to the question
33:53the fight scene was so much fun
33:55I think for both of us
33:57because yes we did have stunt doubles
33:59we did the real fancy one
34:01but just that we had that moment
34:03that scene with us
