01:12But it's just as I remembered it.

01:27The only thing, there was an awful lot of seaweed out in the middle last year.

01:37And, Donald, you were a swimmer in the very first one.

01:45There wasn't many people, maybe about ten, that's about all.

01:51Yes, it wasn't what you call it, it was just a swim in these days.

01:56And then later on it became, I bet I used to start with ten people, you know.

02:03To begin with, it was the LMS club, really, that started with me.

02:09I know I was doing it in the fifties.

02:12Sometimes it was the peer we're doing today, and other times it was the shortest swim to the peer on the right there.

02:22But there was never more than twenty or thirty, never.

02:28So this response here today is that people have really taken to this.

02:32Obviously the numbers are probably the greatest it's ever been, you could say.

02:38The other thing was, we did a swim further up the path, at the widest part from Bancrook, across.

02:51And there was eleven swimmers in it, and only four finished.

02:56There was still myself alive, who did it.

03:01And Nancy Scott, who's still alive.

03:08She was headmistress, and I think it was Smith who did that.

03:13How do you prepare yourself for a swim like this? What do the guys need to do today?

03:18These people have got everything.

03:20We just swim in swimming trunks, and a wee bit of winter green.

03:27The boys used winter green, we didn't, because it was too smelly.

03:35Well I'm hoping, I helped coach the Highland Disability Swim Team on this Saturday afternoon.

03:41And one of our young swimmers, Anna, is swimming today for the first time.

03:46So I'm here really, to see how she goes, and support her.

03:51She's so excited, she hasn't stopped grinning.

03:56Fingers crossed that she'll enjoy it.

04:25So, Soren, today, amazing weather, and you're the first person out of the water, how does it feel?

04:31Very good, yeah. I've been training hard, so, yeah.

04:34So, what was your preparation like for today?

04:36Obviously, coming out of the water, it's a bit of a challenge,

04:41Yeah, I normally swim like every day, and I'm a professional swimmer, so I compete quite a lot.

04:46But this is only my second open water swim.

04:49Oh right, okay, wow. What was your first?

04:51Last year.

04:52Oh, the last year's one, same swim, so how did you do last year?

04:55Fourth.

04:56Oh right, okay, yeah. So you'll be delighted with that.

05:34Quite sore arms, definitely.

05:36Yeah.

05:37Yeah, sore arms is the main one.

05:39Yeah, and you get very cold, so you get quite numb, so it can get quite hard, but you've just got to push through it.

05:45Coping through today, how does it feel now?

05:47Good, yeah, I'm very happy.
