Paralympics: Medals up for grabs at cycling track

00:00Our reporter James Vecina is covering the track cycling. He's with me on the program. James. Tell us where you are and what's going on

00:10Well, that's your we're here in the west of Paris in second sound on Evelyn for the track cycling and read the velodrome

00:19Of course the same events for the Olympics are five medals to come today

00:24One of those that's being disputed as we speak right now

00:28And in these Paralympics

00:30Well, it's quite simply as follows on from the same way as we saw last couple of weeks

00:34So with a slight difference that between the track and the roads, well, there's the solo

00:38there's tandem bikes as well as well as handbikes and the and

00:42Tricycles as well that's used by the athletes here

00:45And well very simply with those are medals coming down every single time because of these

00:50The way that the Paris sports are divided into different categories

00:54Which is why there's a shower of medals coming out every day a different shower to the one that we're currently under

00:58Right now and which means though that despite this current rain the triathlon which also incorporates the cycling has been pushed back

01:06To Sunday because the rain doesn't allow as we know now

01:10Swimmers to take place in the scent to go and compete in the sense of that isn't happening until Sunday

01:15But what is happening today is the trikes track cycling with the roof over the velodrome. It isn't stopping. It's happening

01:21But what everybody in there is waiting for right now is in a couple of minutes time

01:26Just before the with the next final to come will be Alexandra

01:31Leo T who had managed to break the world record in the pursuits earlier this morning in the qualifiers

01:36He's taking place in the 3,000 meter pursuits to come for the final already assured France of a medal France

01:42Of course who opens their medal tally here at this very spots with a silver medal

01:48Yesterday that was the first that came and so everybody hoping here that he can get another gold

01:54Of course, we saw gold in the swimming yesterday for France

01:57I mean see some gold in cycling still to come but there's those finals to come over the coming hours here at San Corto
