00:25Ukraine controls over 1,250 square kilometers in Russia's Kursk region.

00:31That is according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

00:35He adds that troops captured the largest number of Russian prisoners in a single operation,

00:40making it one of Kiev's largest efforts to liberate Ukrainians from Russian captivity.

00:4584 temporary accommodation centers opened in the Kursk region, as Russian authorities

01:13say more than 121,000 civilians were evacuated since the start of the incursion.

01:23On Sunday, the Ukrainian President addressed the aim of the incursion into Kursk for the

01:28first time, which is to create a buffer zone to prevent further attacks by Moscow across

01:33the border.

01:34Zelensky says his troops would not have to physically enter Russian territories, particularly

01:39the Kursk region, if Ukraine partners would lift the restriction on the use of long-range

01:44weapons.

01:50At least one person was killed and six people are missing after a luxury superyacht carrying

01:55tourists capsized and sank off the coast of Sicily in bad weather.

02:03Fifteen people were rescued initially and taken to shore at Porticello, where eight

02:08are in the hospital.

02:12Amongst the survivors was a one-year-old child.

02:38The British-flagged 56-metre sailboat had a crew of 10 people and was carrying 12 passengers,

02:50with British, American and Canadian nationalities, according to the Italian Coast Guard.

02:56A helicopter and rescue boats from Italian emergency services were at the scene searching

03:01for the missing people.

03:04Experienced deep-sea divers were also there to help in the search.

03:09Local media said a fierce storm had battered the area overnight, but skies were clear and

03:13seas calm by the time the search was underway.

03:19Bulgarian President Ruman Radev has rejected Prime Minister-designate Goritsa Granchirova-Kozareva's

03:26proposal for a new caretaker cabinet.

03:31Her current plans would see Stoyanov retain his position as Interior Minister, something

03:37the president has said he won't allow because it would not guarantee the holding of fair

03:41elections.

03:42The current caretaker government of Dmitar Glavchev will now remain in power until the

04:06parliament presents a new shortlist of potential prime ministers.

04:12Radev's decision has set a precedent in Bulgaria, but constitutionalists are divided on whether

04:18the issue is constitutional or political.

04:51Heavy rains have lashed alpine regions of Austria, leaving parts of the capital Vienna

05:35The A-road to Arlberg remains closed and a decision on when to reopen it will be taken

05:40on Monday.

05:59St. Anton's mayor says the clean-up operation will take weeks to complete and volunteers

06:04will help clean houses in the village.

06:11A manhunt is underway for a masked man who stabbed an 11-year-old boy to death while

06:16the child was playing football with his friends.

06:20The man attacked three children at a sports centre, killing one of them and then fleeing.

06:26Spanish police have launched a search and capture operation involving a dozen patrols

06:30and a helicopter to locate the still-at-large attacker.

06:36Relatives, children and residents of the town gathered for a minute of silence in tribute

06:40to the child who was killed.

06:47China has responded to concerns raised by EU businesses over its revised anti-espionage

06:53law, which was broadened to include the transfer of so-called work secrets in February of this

06:59year.

07:00The revised law includes further restrictions on the transfer of data to other parties but

07:06remains vague as to what kind of data is considered a national security threat by China's government.

07:15Concerns surrounding the law is particularly prevalent in the pharmaceutical industry,

07:20as foreign businesses are afraid of making any attempts to certify manufacturing sites

07:25in China.

07:28The German Medicines Manufacturers Association recently said many of their inspectors refused

07:34to visit and inspect production sites in China over fears of arrest for spying under the

07:39law.

07:43But China says it's committed to providing foreign business with a market-orientated

07:48and law-based environment.

07:50China is a major supplier of drugs to the EU and these new restrictions risk exacerbating

08:16the disruption of supply chains.

08:21Construction of a military base dedicated to a German brigade at the Rudninkai training

08:25ground started in Lithuania.

08:28Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Vilnius and Berlin agreed to the

08:34permanent deployment of a German brigade in Lithuania.

08:38Officials agreed for most of the soldiers to be stationed in the Lithuanian region of

08:43Rudninkai, with Lithuania promising to prepare the necessary infrastructure.

08:49During the initial stage of construction, crucial infrastructure for the future military

08:53town will be built.

08:56The brigade is expected to consist of around 5,000 soldiers.

09:01So far, Lithuania estimated that a third of them will come with their families.

09:06Berlin intends to keep a military brigade fully stationed in Lithuania until 2027.

09:13The development of a town with essential facilities to accommodate them is also underway as part

09:18of the project.

09:22An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.0 has struck off the far eastern coast

09:27of Russia near a major naval base.

09:32The earthquake, at a depth of 6 kilometers, triggered the eruption of two volcanoes in

09:37the Kuril Islands on Sunday.

09:39The U.S. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center initially warned that Azado tsunami waves were possible

09:46for coasts within 480 kilometers of the epicenter.

09:51There have been no reports of any casualties.

09:58Poland's largest satellite, Eagle Eye, was successfully launched into orbit.

11:05A supermoon is used to describe when a full moon is at its closest point to Earth.

11:11Because of this close proximity, the moon appears to be 14% larger and 30% brighter

11:17compared to when it's at its farthest distance.

11:21The lunar spectacle is especially rare as according to NASA it is also a blue moon which

11:27happens every 2-3 years.

11:30Worried that you missed it?

11:32Well according to NASA, the blue supermoon can be seen through early Wednesday morning.

11:38The next August supermoon is the first of four lunar spectacles.

11:42The next supermoon will be on the night of September 18th, followed by October 17th and

11:48the final supermoon will round out the year on November 15th.
