Charity boss urges people to hand over deadly knives

Ben Kinsella Trust CEO Patrick Green urges people to hand in zombie-style knives and machetes to police stations, ahead of a national ban, saying “they have no place in our society”. 00:04we've all fought for for some time. Machetes and zombie knives are being used in some of the most

00:11serious attacks that we see on our streets. They have no place in our society. This ban

00:16is long overdue and really, really important. To anyone who has a zombie knife, I would be saying,

00:22or a machete, it's time to surrender them. There is a compensation scheme in place for

00:28people to get some monetary return for the value they've spent on these items.

00:33But very shortly, these items will become illegal. So it's important that we all comply

00:39with the law. These knives and zombie knives have no place in our society. They need to be

00:47taken off our streets and I would urge anybody who has one to surrender it to a police station.
