00:00I headed along to Vault City's tap room at Haymarket to try some of their more
00:05interesting craft beers.
00:07So we are all about flavour exploration at Vault City.
00:11We brew at least six new flavours every single month which gives us a chance to really experiment
00:16with small batch releases and work with different fruits and really try and push the boundaries
00:21of what people might typically expect from a beer.
00:23And what do customers make of the flavours?
00:26We've got a hardcore dedicated audience that really love the kind of exploration angle
00:32of what we do and we're always reaching out to people who typically might not have
00:36considered themselves a beer drinker before.
00:38We've got a sort of accessible angle to what we make which kind of flips beer a little
00:45bit on its head from people's usual perception.
00:48So I tried out some of Vault City's most interesting concoctions.
00:54First up was Cereal Spooner, a breakfast inspired cereal sour with strawberries, raspberries
01:00and vanilla.
01:01Cereal Spooner.
01:08You can smell that right away.
01:10It just makes me think of cornflakes.
01:13They're not cornflakes.
01:17It's quite tart, quite sweet.
01:19You get a mix of different red berries.
01:22Very, very interesting.
01:26Next up was Pog, passion fruit orange guava fruited sour beer inspired by a Hawaiian soft drink.
01:37Lots of fruits going on here.
01:40Definitely, definitely passion fruit.
01:45Nice and sweet.
01:47Next to try was Very Cheeky.
01:49A take on cheeky vinto cocktail with blackcurrant, raspberry, white grape juice and mixed spicy.
02:00Definitely the vinto vibes.
02:02Takes me back.
02:04Oh, it's very tasty though.
02:07It's quite...
02:10It's quite...
02:12fucking tasty really.
02:14This one's quite a nice juicy type of cocktail.
02:16So we've got blackcurrant and raspberry.
02:18That's the two fruits that we've conditioned the beer on.
02:21But we also have white wine grape juice which gives it a kind of vine-ness character.
02:25You wouldn't even think this is a beer.
02:27Yeah, not at all.
02:28It's just like drinking vinto basically.
02:31Nice.
02:32Next on the menu was Passion Fruit Mojito.
02:35A cocktail inspired sour beer with passion fruit, lime juice and mint.
02:43Oh, you can smell the mint.
02:50So you're definitely getting a vinto vibe.
02:52I'm going to come on holiday back to home with a cocktail.
02:54Let's...
02:56Let's play this one.
03:05That's the best.
03:06Sticking with fruity flavours, I tried Blood Orange Raspberry next.
03:10A zesty Session Sour with citrus notes and juicy raspberries.
03:17Oh, you're definitely getting the orange and raspberry.
03:22That's probably the zestiest shot.
03:24Yes, very zesty, very summery.
03:34Lastly I tried DDF Caterpillar Imperial Stout.
03:38A 14.5% proof chocolate cake inspired beer.
03:43Really strong smell.
03:45And taste, like you said.
03:47What's the percentage for this?
03:49It's 14.5%.
03:5114.5%?
03:52Yeah.
03:53Wow.
03:54I'll take the...
03:57Wow.
04:00You can get the chocolate aroma from all the way over here.
04:02It's really good.
04:04Very chocolatey.
04:06That was later.
04:08I didn't get that many of them.
04:11We've been at Burberry for six years now.
04:14And we've had this tap room in Haymarket since 2021.
04:19It's a lovely little haven for craft beer fans.
04:22But we also get a lot of passing traffic that are drawn in by the neon signs.
04:27We do a lot of beers on tap.
04:30But we also have a takeaway fridge which is usually stocked with some incredible guest beer.
04:34And of course, every Vault City release.
04:37I would definitely recommend Vault City's tap room for craft beer fans.
04:40And even those who have never tried craft beer and want to dive in.
