00:02A council crackdown on street boozers, beggars and racing motorists performing stunts in a

00:07troubled area of the town has been launched in Chesterfield. The Borough Council's cabinet

00:12agreed to the implementation of a new three-year public spaces protection order covering an area

00:17from Chesterfield College in the town centre through to Newbold and including Sheetbridge.

00:22A council spokesperson stated there is clear evidence that the area covered by the order

00:27has been subjected to consistent antisocial behaviour issues.

00:31Breaching an order is a criminal offence and can be enforced by an officer authorised by the local

00:36authority including a police community support officer or a police constable. The new order

00:41bans urinating or defecating in public, loitering around shops or cashpoint with the purposes of

00:46begging, behaviour that causes nuisance, alarm or distress, stunts using a motor vehicle including

00:53performing donuts, skids, handbrake turns and wheel spinning, loud music or noise coming from

00:58a vehicle that causes a nuisance, causing a danger or risk of injury to others by speeding or racing

01:04in a motor vehicle and causing an obstruction on a public highway whether moving or stationary

01:09including driving in convoys. Leading Derbyshire and South Yorkshire law firm BRM has raised a

01:17total of £202,000 since 2015 for Macmillan Cancer Support Services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital

01:25thanks to support from its clients during its annual free will month. In its ninth year the

01:30firm's partnership with Macmillan enables people to make a will for free during two months of the

01:34year and instead of paying a fee to BRM it was requested that a voluntary donation was made to

01:39the charity with a recommended contribution of £75 per person. Paul Beresford, Executive Director

01:46at BRM said we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped support our free

01:51wills month in aid of Macmillan Cancer Report since 2015. Macmillan is a charity close to

01:57our hearts and we're proud to have worked alongside them for several years.
