So, which acts are you most looking forward to at Rebellion this year?
00:06
The newer acts. We've been going a long time and the bigger bands we've seen quite a few times.
00:12
Upcoming bands like Clobber that we really like.
00:15
We're going to see Noise, they're an American street punk band, this is their first time in the UK.
00:19
They've been going for quite a few years, first time they've ever played in the UK as well.
00:22
So we're really excited about that later on.
00:24
Yeah, and like Wonk Unit, I really like them.
00:27
And my daughter comes, we sort of quite like the newer, younger bands I do and whoever.
00:31
So, involving what you've just said, how does this year, you've been coming for a long time,
00:37
how has it changed and how do you think it's different this year?
00:41
I think it's far more inclusive, it's very inclusive nowadays.
00:47
It's not just straightforward old school punk bands, there's a lot of new, young talent that comes through.
00:54
Bands like The Miffs and things like that.
00:56
But also, as you well know probably, it's a very friendly and all-inclusive atmosphere.
01:02
It's just a great festival.
01:04
Yeah, and it's just not, it's absolutely sold out, which is, that's not happened.
01:08
I think this was about three years ago, I think Covid, it sort of took a bit of a knock.
01:12
And it's just nice to see it, it's really busy in there today already.
01:17
So yeah, it's good to see.
01:19
What acts are you most looking forward to for this year of Rebellion in Blackpool?
01:23
Subhumans, I like a lot of all of them bands.
01:27
Chelsea, but sad to say they're not playing any Chelsea.
01:30
A lot of bands have pulled out, but yeah, come every year.
01:34
Been doing for the past like 29 years.
01:37
So what do you think makes this year different to previous years, how has it changed?
01:41
Because a lot of the old bands have pulled out mate, you know what I mean?
01:44
Exploited are not on, which they do every year.
01:46
A load of bands have pulled out.
01:49
Do you know why that is?
01:51
No, no mate, no, I don't know.
01:56
So you've been coming here for...
01:58
29 years mate, yep.
02:00
What else, apart from the bands, is there anything else you're looking forward to at the festival?
02:06
All the bands, yeah, I love it.
02:07
Every year we come, we love it.
02:09
Like I say, there's so many bands that have pulled out, it's kind of disappointing.
02:14
We didn't like to see the proper old bands like, but now they're not doing it no more mate.
02:19
What acts are you most looking forward to from a million this year?
02:22
Well we've got a few.
02:24
We've got Sham 69 tonight obviously.
02:28
We've got...
02:29
The Men They Couldn't Hang.
02:30
The Men They Couldn't Hang, it's a band.
02:32
The Alarm.
02:33
The Alarm.
02:34
Just general bands, you know.
02:36
We just come for the vibe and just any kind of bands.
02:39
How far have you guys travelled?
02:42
Well I've come down from Motherwell, just south of Glasgow.
02:47
Came down yesterday.
02:49
So what do you think makes this year different from previous years?
02:53
Have you come to this event previously?
02:55
This is our third year.
02:59
I don't think it feels any different from last year.
03:03
The year before that they had the big stage down at the pier, down on the promenade.
03:07
That made it a wee bit different.
03:10
And the weather's good this year as well, so that always helps.
03:15
It's just a great vibe, you know.
