Men's Olympic triathlon postponed due to Seine River pollution
If bacteria levels remain high, races will continue to be postponed. But if water quality does not improve, the swim leg will be scrapped in favour of a duathlon. Swimming has been off-limits in the polluted Seine River for more than a century, but ahead of the Paris Olympic Games, the government spent $1.5 billion in an attempt to clean it.
