00:44Why are we doing this in the first place?

00:47Is it just to entertain?

00:50And when I get the answer that I'm looking for,

00:54how this will help the psychology of our audience,

00:59that's when I get inspired.

01:01That's when I give everything I can.

01:05Like in Royal Blood, it's about treating your family with love

01:11and raising your children properly

01:14because these traumas will come out when they're adults.

01:18And so, in Pulang Araw, it's a story that I think I also did it to honor my grandmother

01:26and all those who were alive at the time

01:29and went through that so that we don't have to.

01:34So, that's where I got inspired.

01:36Not in the bigness of the role or budget of the project or anything like that.

01:43It's more of my way of honoring those who came before us.

01:49Well, aside from being a mother,

01:56and not just any kind of mother,

01:58she's the fierce kind.

02:07Aside from that, I also thought about what will be the symbolism of this woman.

02:15And that's when I saw that she's the Filipina.

02:21She's the Filipina who's used, discarded.

02:26And then her being a mom, it's a thankless job.

02:29But I had to show her resilience because what do we hear all the time about Filipinas?
