00:00My name is Jeremy Scully. I've been riding for 32 years.

00:07It's freedom, calm, there's no better feeling than jumping on your bike and just riding

00:18to anywhere and just enjoying the moment. I remember just hitting the car and just flying

00:27over the top, but hit the deck and tumbled around a bit and then went to get myself back

00:31up and realised my foot wasn't pointing the right direction.

00:36Hey Jether, bit of a tough place to visit mate. Tell us a bit about it, what happened here behind

00:40us. I'm Toby Price, two-time winner of Dakar Rally, training off-road champion and also

00:46world champion. I came out of a driveway to go through the intersection. As I accelerated,

00:53I looked up and realised there was a car coming straight towards me. You just freeze in the

00:57moment and it happens so quickly. Yeah, it's a tough one. I've spent a lot of time on the road

01:02myself and there's so many things out of your control in an area like this. I think you learn

01:08the most that the safety equipment is a critical part of riding a motorcycle on the road. I

01:14definitely levelled up on the rider apparel. New jeans, new jacket, new helmet, new gloves,

01:19new boots for the biggest one, obviously being my foot. Made sure I got the best thing that's

01:23going to look after me. Alright Jether, we've been back to the crash site and visited there.

01:32What have you changed since you've now been back on a bike and riding? Definitely my ride craft

01:37has levelled up. Just being more aware of my surroundings and just checking out what

01:42everyone's doing around you, especially coming up to an intersection, just trying to read what

01:46every car is doing. It's opening that peripheral vision a little bit more now and just being aware

01:50of every vehicle that's on the road. You've had multiple crashes throughout your career.

01:55How has that changed your approach to riding? Yeah, it's difficult. It's always in the back

02:00of your mind. You sit there and you learn from that process of what happened and what you can

02:05improve and just one of them things, time heals everything and it's just trying to enjoy being

02:12back on a motorcycle and back out on the road again. It's good to talk to a professional and

02:19see what they've gone through and just enjoying every moment of being back on the road riding again.
