00:00Hello and welcome to What's On in Wigan this week. Tonight's annual Wigan Pride is a day
00:08to celebrate the equality, diversity and difference across Wigan Borough. Taking place across
00:13Wigan Town Centre on Saturday August 10th, this family-friendly day will include the
00:17Famous Parade, stalls, and range of entertainment on the Believe Stage, Believe Square and Unity
00:23Stage and Market Square. Mel Evans NBE Foundation is hosting the Evans Trophy North vs South
00:31team challenge at Carswell Bowling Club in Ashton to raise awareness for motor neurone
00:35disease. Coronation Street stars and charity patrons Peter Ash and Daniel Brockelbank will
00:41be in attendance as well as former world snooker champion John Parrott. The free event is on
00:47August 10th with the opening ceremony starting at 10am with the match beginning at 10.30am.
00:53Or why not head down to the Grand Arcade on August 9th to celebrate the Olympics. From
01:0011am to 3pm there will be a special event featuring comedy extraordinaires, 80s PE teachers
01:06Mr Stretch and Mr Armstrong and synchronised swimming sensations the Van Dunk Brothers.
01:13And finally the big summer party is taking place at Bryn Labour Club on August 6th with
01:18family entertainment, popcorn, candy floss and much more. It runs from 2pm to 6pm and
01:24free tickets are available at the Labour Club.
