00:00In doing some pre-show work here just to take a look at sort of the spread and what's going

00:08on here, I can't find anyone even backing Japan on the spread at all here, Carlin, in

00:13this game.

00:14I guess Japan is one of the, I mean, to say you're a bad team, I don't want to do that

00:18because these are kids at the Olympics, but apparently one of the poor teams participating

00:23in Paris is Japan.

00:25They're getting 20 and a half today and a high total of 160 and a half.

00:31So is this indeed a blowout game for Team USA?

00:35It is going to be a blowout game, much like most of the games, you know, that Team USA

00:39are going to compete in.

00:40You know, France is, or excuse me, Japan is a really good team, an interesting team, I

00:45would say, at this Olympic Games because they play a different style than anyone else.

00:49They're going to take and try to make a lot of three-pointers.

00:53No one else at the women's basketball game in the women's basketball field plays like

00:56this.

00:57They're going to shoot a ton of threes.

00:59It's going to look crazy, right?

01:00Like if you're watching this game, it's going to be confusing why they're just kind of jacking

01:03shots, you know, with 14 seconds on the shot clock, but that's the way they play.

01:07They just want possessions.

01:08They just want to get up as many shots as possible.

01:10They're trying to beat a math game more so than try to beat a team basketball-wise.

01:14So they're going to keep it close.

01:16It's going to be the most nervous you'll ever be covering a 20-point spread, but USA should

01:23cover it.

01:24But it's going to be closer to that 20 points.

01:25It's not going to be 30 or 40.

01:26It's not going to be comfortable.

01:27You're going to be sweating it out late in the game because Japan is going to continue

01:31shooting threes.

01:32And if they get hot at any point in these quarters, it will bring that scoreline down

01:36a little bit.

01:37The US, like I said, should cover it, but I think it's going to be closer to like 22,

01:4023 points when it's all said and done just because of the amount of possessions that

01:44Japan is going to have and the amount of threes that they're going to put up.

01:47They're going to make you sweat a little bit.
