00:00I would like to remind the Minister of Health and Welfare

00:04that the investigation needs to be carried out thoroughly.

00:07I am certain that this is a systemic issue

00:12that has been affecting the medical system

00:14and the long-term care system.

00:18Senator R.A. Linggiswaran has urged the Human Resources Ministry

00:22to clear the air over the alleged suspension of doctors

00:25handling SOCSO disability claims.

00:28It was said that these doctors were linked to a cartel

00:31that falsifies such applications.

00:34Linggiswaran said the panel of doctors at a Penang hospital

00:38has been suspended until further notice

00:40but the cartel was lobbying for it to be brought back.

00:44He said there had been 683 fraudulent SOCSO withdrawals

00:48from 2018 to 2022 involving some RM43 million.

00:53Linggiswaran also demanded an update on SOCSO's probe

00:57and for all fraud cases to be made public.
