Hello, my name is Roy Payton and I'm really, really old. I'm nearly 90 years of age and
00:10
quite frankly I've turned out to be a very happy old man and I'm really pleased with my life
00:18
and I've had lots of ups and downs and a lot of my mates I played rugby with they've all passed on
00:26
now but I've been preserved and I thought well if I've been preserved for what reason and during
00:36
lockdown I was in a care home for four years and I thought well I need to do something with my life
00:45
and I decided to walk a thousand miles and raise funds for dementia. Now a thousand miles took me
00:53
a year and whilst I was walking I also write poetry and I thought well I'm going to put all
01:01
my poetry into a book and I did and it's called Poetry in Motion and as it says every poem tells
01:09
a story and they do and that is for sale but all proceeds go to dementia which my mother, wife
01:21
and sister all died from. Because of what I do for charity, I roller skate or used to, I've raised
01:31
funds for children's charities and I appear on the buses in Brighton so for an old man that was
01:39
quite an achievement. Furthermore as time went by having felt that I'd been preserved for something
01:49
I thought I'm going to write a book and that is the book What If and it's all about my life
01:57
and I've written it for the benefit of you younger people to learn about life from my experiences
02:08
and the coincidences in it are absolutely incredible. You won't believe it until you read it
02:16
so I strongly urge you to go into Amazon those are the details and if you go into Amazon on the QR
02:26
code you can order the book and it will be with you next day but please remember proceeds go to
02:34
dementia and not to me. I don't want to make any money out of it, it is for your benefit you young
02:42
people anybody younger than 90 years of age it's just what you want. Thank you for listening, goodbye.
03:12
