Corey LaJoie: ‘I’m not gonna say sorry’ on incident with Kyle Busch

Corey LaJoie talks what happened from his side on the final stage wreck with Kyle Busch at Pocono Raceway.

00:00Corey Lejoy brings it home 19th today at Pocono. Corey, that incident there

00:04between you and Kyle Busch, from your perspective, what happened?

00:07The restarts were so crazy there. If you have any sort of momentum you got to take it

00:12and you got to go to the bottom to just kind of stake your ground and I got a

00:15big push from the 16 and it was like four wide and I went to the left rear

00:22of the eight and he blocked it once and I kind of stayed straight. I was

00:26anticipating kind of our bumpers lining up and then you know kind of pushing

00:29him forward and maybe him taking the lane but he blocked again when I had a

00:33little more position on him and spun him out. I hate to take out him and

00:37smaller guys but that's just what like that's what you have to do. You have to

00:42take momentum when you have it because if you don't the guy behind you is gonna

00:45put you in a worse spot than you're gonna put the guy in front of you so

00:47that's just that's just how the racing is. You have to be super aggressive on

00:51restarts and sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug.

00:54So in hindsight you would not, anything you would have done differently there?

00:58No, you got to take the run you know I don't want to not the guy that wants to

01:05wreck anybody but I think if Kyle blocks only once then we both you know go

01:12around the corner and we live to fight another day but that second block that

01:16he thought he had it covered and he didn't was was what did him in and

01:20did a couple other guys in but man it is really hard. It is so freaking hard to

01:26run 19th I mean it's all I got time hanging out so you have to be perfect we

01:32spent on pit road frustrated about that we had a you know probably a 10th to 14th

01:36place car put us behind the eight ball there you know we're 17 myself we've

01:41been a little bit of a rut but we're gonna start digging our way out of this

01:44and this is a you know we're gonna go to Indy we're gonna have off week then we'll

01:47come back strong for the playoffs. Do you have anything to say to Kyle?

01:53You know I think Kyle and I have been racing around each other long enough we're not

01:56gonna smash into each other on purpose you know we both are our guys that feel

02:01like we belong certainly him but I mean I'm not gonna say sorry I'm not sorry

02:07about it cuz that was the that was the thing I'll end up if she was on the

02:10other foot the exact same thing would happen and I think he would probably say
