00:00 >> The top five here for Ross Chastain at Sonoma.
00:03 Let's start with the final laps.
00:04 Walk me through what the one had to -- the challenge of the final laps and what you guys
00:08 with the eight.
00:09 >> Yeah, I feel like the first or second lap of the race and the last lap were the most
00:13 exciting and the rest were just making lap time besides some restarts.
00:17 So it just feels so good to be back passing cars and being fast and being able to be aggressive
00:23 and make speed doing it.
00:24 So I'm pretty confused on how the strategy worked out.
00:27 I don't know how the five won, I finished fifth.
00:31 I'm not sure what happened with the eight either.
00:32 I'll be honest.
00:33 I'm pretty confused about most things here.
00:37 He checked up down into 4A.
00:38 I popped out to not hit him and I locked up getting in there to his right.
00:43 So definitely not trying to run into him and get run into by the 9 for a spot in 11.
00:48 So a lot of bow ties running together today.
00:51 Glad one of them got the win.
00:53 >> I know victory lane is always the goal.
00:55 But you have a top five here.
00:57 But as a driver from your standpoint, a lot of different strategies today.
01:00 Would you have done anything different to try and make it to victory lane?
01:04 >> Our strategy was the winning one.
01:06 I felt like I went two hours without pitting and then I pitted again 20 minutes later.
01:10 So I didn't know what was going on.
01:12 We were out there forever with all those early cautions.
01:16 Whatever Phil Surgeon and track house wants to do, I go where they say.
01:20 And I just try to make lap time.
01:21 My whole thought is under caution.
01:22 Not about when to pit or how many tires or how much fuel.
01:25 I'm thinking about my tires on the car, how to prep them, how to get a good restart, how
01:29 to make lap time.
01:30 So that's what works so well with us is that I just drive it.
01:34 Good, bad or indifferent.
01:35 And they let me drive it, good, bad or indifferent.
01:37 >> Thanks, Ross.
