Japan and Germany agree to boost security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region

Both sides said their countries would create an economic security framework amid fears about what they view as China's overproduction of electric vehicles and other key products using massive subsidies.

00:17He expressed grave concern over North Korea's deepening military cooperation with Russia,

00:22with Scholz calling it a clear violation of UN sanctions.

00:27Scholz and Kishida also agreed to hold high-level intergovernmental talks, possibly next year,

00:32to discuss a wide range of global and regional issues.

00:37During talks in Berlin, the two leaders also confirmed that their countries would create

00:41an economic security framework, amid fears about what they view as China's overproduction

00:47of electric vehicles.

00:50Scholz said that despite the distance between the two countries, Japan and Germany have

00:54many things in common.
