European Union's foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell signed a defense pact on Friday with his Japanese counterpart Takeshi Iwaya to step up defense cooperation. The first such agreement between the two parties will allow the EU and Japan to conduct joint drills and enhance military exchanges.
