A burglar was caught driving a stolen car - more than FOUR TIMES over the legal drink limit.
Stratton, of Chaucer Road, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, appeared at Norwich Crown Court yesterday (Thursday) where he was sentenced to a year in prison, suspended for 18 months, and disqualified from driving for four years after previously admitting nine offences including burglary, driving without insurance and driving while disqualified.
He must complete a 10-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR), 120 days alcohol abstinence monitoring requirement and a 12-month mental health treatment requirement.
00:00The issue mate is that this car has been reported stolen, as of yesterday, alright?
00:06What?
00:07As I'm afraid.
00:09My bad.
00:10So what I'm going to do, right now, if I'm wrong, I'll undo it.
00:15But as of right now, just so I can control the situation, everything's alright, alright mate?
00:19Time is now 11 minutes past 11 and you're under arrest on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
00:27Can I have a word?
00:28It's outside of Whizbeach, mate. Whizbeach is literally about a mile that way.
00:30So what police station am I going to go to?
00:31It'll be King's Lynn, pick.
00:32King's Lynn, yeah?
00:33Yeah, man.
00:34Listen, I ain't going to lie to you, I'm a band driver, innit?
00:37Right, you want to take a nice deep breath, okay?
00:43So nice deep breath, for a nice tight seal around the mouthpiece, and then just keep blowing a long continuous breath until I tell you to stop, alright?
01:26No, we'll do one road test, and then we'll get there.
01:28150.
01:29Right, as I was saying, 36 minutes past 11, mate, you're further arrested on suspicion of driving whilst over the prescribed limit with alcohol, alright?
