00:00I said it's time! Are you guys ready? I've asked you to do this multiple times I'm

00:13gonna ask you to do it as I've said and I'll continue to say many many more times

00:18what I need in just a moment is for you to make as much noise as humanly and

00:26Vulcanly and other thingly possible for the man of the hour one of the men of

00:33the hour please show all of the love that you have for Mr. Dan Deavy

00:56wow wow first time I've been on stage without the security of holding a

01:08microphone but this is about to be the most special moment of my life and I

01:22want to tell you all a little story about why this is happening here so as a

01:30lot of you know I founded Gaze In Space seven years ago and it was yeah let's

01:36give it up for Gaze In Space but I did it because you know I knew there was a

01:48community out there that would be echoing what I'm saying but I you know I

02:04did it because I knew somehow there were more people out there like me that I was

02:11not the only gay geek that was in love with Star Trek in the world I knew I

02:18wasn't I suspected I wasn't and so I created Gaze In Space and I started

02:25doing these parties and someone came to one of these parties in New York City

02:31and was so affected by it that he started telling his friends well one of

02:39his friends lived in San Francisco at the time and we just so happened to have

02:46been doing another Gaze In Space party in LA the following month and so this

02:52person said wow if I could just meet a guy like that guy meaning me that would

03:01be incredible I'm gonna go to LA to this party because I can't miss it this is

03:09this is huge so he got on a bus came down to LA came to the party party ended

03:17got back on a bus back to San Francisco because that's how important it was for

03:23him to be there to meet a guy like me he got stuck with me

03:32Gaze In Space brought us together if Gaze In Space had not been created I

03:39would not have first of all you I would not have my true family and the reason

03:50that this is all happening here and now is because how could I do this without

03:57my family and so you have all been there from the time we met to the time

04:11that I proposed on stage in Vegas at a Gaze In Space party you've been there

04:16and so right now I am so excited and grateful to be able to welcome you to my

04:23wedding

04:31perhaps the worst kept secret of this weekend because I couldn't stop telling

04:38everybody because this this is again you're my family you're here and I am so

04:47excited to share this with you now the question you have in your minds right

04:51now is what is the name of that incredibly smart wonderfully talented

04:59with the greatest taste in the galaxies man's name that's Richard Hart and I

05:11believe he is about to join me on stage right now

05:21oh my goodness now Rich is an engineer he made a transporter for this thing

05:40hey how you doing I'm doing excellent um so I just explained to everyone that we

05:49met because of Gaze In Space because of them what I didn't tell them was that

05:55you are the love of my life and I honestly never thought I would be here I

06:09never thought I would find the guy who made me feel like this I should save

06:15most of this for the vows otherwise I'm not gonna be able to follow it but with

06:22such an incredible amazing man that I just could never have dreamed of

06:29meeting when I proposed and he said yes I said thank goodness because it was on

06:35stage that would have been embarrassing the next question was who could we

06:43possibly ask to perform our wedding ceremony to officiate it and it took a

06:50long time but we finally found the perfect person and I think she's about

06:56to join us right now

07:13well let's talk about my outfit when you're asked to officiate a gay wedding

07:37you have to look fabulous right girls when you're asked to officiate Dan

07:45Devey's wedding well we have to go a little extra Dan often talks about me

08:00Tasha Yar being his first crush as a twelve-year-old boy well that worked out

08:13well didn't he he obviously thought I was a boy and that's okay I am so

08:27blessedly honored to take part in something so special as this for many

08:37many reasons so let me get started okay this marriage this marriage thing right

08:48what are we talking about here it's a commitment it's a commitment to life

08:53it's it's it's a commitment to the best that that two people can find and and

09:00bring out in each other and within its circle of love these two people create a

09:11spirit unique unique to themselves which brings them closer than any speech or

09:21written word marriage is a promise it's a potential it's made in the hearts of

09:33two people who love which takes a lifetime to fulfill the grooms have

09:44written something that they would like to now share

10:14valued and loved in this world I want to be your mother and thank you for

10:23bringing me into your path with Cody

10:33no words no no don't worry there will be nobody understands me the way that you

10:42nobody values me the way that you do I've never met anyone in the world who I

10:51have never had to worry about ever wanting to be a part for me I am so glad

11:00thank you took that fucking boss because if you hadn't my life would not

11:10be fulfilled it never would have been because it can't be without you I love

11:17you so a ring a ring is a circle we're back to the circle of love it's a circle

11:35with neither a beginning or an end it's an eternity right it's a symbol of

11:43eternal love and the never-ending bond of marriage Dan repeat after me I Dan

11:56take you rich I Dan take you rich to be my husband be my husband to have him to

12:06hold from this day forward to have him to hold from this day forward for better

12:10for worse for better for worse for richer for poorer for richer in sickness

12:18and in health in sickness and in health to love and to cherish to love and to

12:49husband to have and to hold from this day forward for better for worse for

13:23now hold hands I want to share with you something really personal for me I want

13:41to share with you an Apache wedding blessing that was given to me on my

13:46wedding day 30 years ago I think it worked now you will feel no rain for

13:59each of you will be shelter for the other now you will feel no cold for each

14:08of you will be warmth to the other now there will be no loneliness for each of

14:15you will be companion to the other now you are two persons but there is only

14:23one life before you may beauty surround you both in the journey ahead and

14:31through all the years may happiness be your companion and your days together be

14:39good and long upon the earth with the power vested in me as a universal life

14:55minister in the state of Pennsylvania I pronounce you partners in the circle of

16:02Wow okay this just happened remember the twelve-year-old boy she mentioned

16:18earlier he gets to say Tasha you're married him

16:24we hope you will all join us for our gala event you now understand that it's

16:38not really a gala it's the reception for our wedding we join us just right across

16:48the street in the Marriott hotel the Marriott ballroom it's complicated to

16:53get there so just ask someone to follow the cheese that makes more sense yes we

17:06hope you will come and join us for some further live music all sorts of good

17:13stuff some food probably a lot of booze really celebrate this incredible once in

17:21a lifetime moment

17:27so please please come and join us and we love you all and we hope to see you
