Hi, I'm digital reporter Amy Seddon, and welcome to another edition of Five Things
00:06
to Do Next Week.
00:08
First up, in central Lancashire, the Trolley Youth Theatre's 60-minute musical adaption
00:15
of the 2016 Disney film Moana is on at the Trolley Theatre between Wednesday, July 10th
00:21
and Saturday, July 13th. They will be bringing the adventures of Moana and her village to
00:26
life on stage for all the family as part of a thrilling and heart-warming coming-of-age
00:32
story. Tickets are £10 for adults and £8 for children.
00:38
Over on the Fylde Coast, the Blackpool Colour Run returns this Saturday in aid of the Trinity
00:43
Hospice. Starting at 11am, the Colour Run sees participants run, jog or walk a 3km route
00:51
along Stargate Beach, but along the way they'll pass through seven coloured paint stations
00:56
getting covered head-to-toe in bright powdered paint. There is still time to register, with
01:02
the entry fee for all ages being £12.50. All participants will receive a packet of
01:07
powder paint, a unique running number and a brand new medal for taking part.
01:14
Up in Lancaster, the highly anticipated show Girls' Night Out comes to the Lancaster Grand
01:20
on Thursday, July 11th. As seen on the BBC, brace yourself for this award-winning smash-hit
01:26
show with Flatten the Curves, the comedy girl band that's leaving a trailer sequence
01:31
across the UK in 2024. This powerhouse glittery cabaret is a fierce blend of outrageous vocals,
01:39
rip-roaring humour and unapologetic horniness. Tickets are still available to buy, with prices
01:45
starting from £28.
01:48
Next up, in East Lancashire, the very first Darwin Pride will take place on Saturday,
01:54
July 13th, featuring live music, including performances from singers, tribute acts and
02:00
drag queens. There will also be outdoor market stalls, food vendors, a bar by Sunbird Records
02:07
and a wide range of family-friendly activities, including a teddy bear's picnic.
02:14
Taking place on Market Square, the free event will start from 12pm and run throughout the
02:19
day until 10pm.
02:22
Finally, just outside of Lancashire, the Wigan International Jazz Festival returns between
02:27
Thursday, July 11th and Sunday, July 14th. Founded in 1986, it is now one of the UK's
02:35
longest-running jazz festivals, and has gained a reputation for being one of the finest jazz
02:39
festivals in Europe thanks to its line-ups featuring some of the world's best jazz artists.
02:45
2024 is set to be no different, with a stellar line-up that includes the Ben Holden Quartet,
02:52
Geoff Hooper and his Trio, Paul Higgs and the Steve King Big Band, to name a few.
02:58
It takes place in the Village on the Green in Aspel, with tickets starting from £20.
03:04
So there are our five top things to do next week, but whatever you're up to, have a good one!
