00:00Well, councillor, I just wanted to know some reactions about the exit poll results that

00:08predict a big loss for your party, National?

00:13I think Caroline Downey, the Conservative candidate for Gosport, has done a lot in this

00:19area to support families, to support the military. I think National will have an effect on the

00:27local election, which I'm standing for. So hopefully, the more people that have been

00:31out and voted locally for me, the better. How National impacts that, no one knows.

00:38Why do you think people had that feeling with the party?

00:45There's many different things. I think what we need to understand is we've had a few major

00:54things that have impacted us, you know, Brexit, we've had Covid, we've had the war in Ukraine.

01:00They've all had an impact. I think public opinion is going to waver each way, depending

01:07on what is happening in the world. I think we've done the right thing at the right time.

01:12You know, going forward, I'd still say we need to do more and hopefully Caroline and

01:18myself, if we're elected, can do more for our constituents here in Gosport.

01:24The results, how do you feel about the results and what do you expect?

01:31We take nothing for granted. Every vote counts. Until the last vote is counted, you've got

01:38to have that air of positivity and we'll see what happens at the end of the night.
