FAW President suspended pending investigsation

With the football association knee deep in a search for a replacement for former manager Rob Page, they have announced that their president Steve Williams has been suspended from his role pending an investigation, but no information has as yet been made available over the reasons behind the decision.

00:05made in years, trying to find a replacement for former manager Rob Page. But, going on

00:10in the background, there's far more that could be a distraction from the ongoing search.

00:15FAW President Steve Williams has been suspended from his role pending an ongoing investigation.

00:21The decision was taken over the last few days, but no information has been revealed as to

00:25what the investigation is looking into. Williams has been a member of the Welsh FA's

00:30council for more than 20 years, and was voted in as president back in 2021.

00:36The news will certainly be a distraction for the FAW given their search for a managerial

00:41replacement, but fans will be hoping the search will continue on as usual without the watch

00:45of Steve Williams. Thierry Henry and Craig Bellamy are the current

00:50favourites, but there are rumours Welsh football legend Bellamy would prefer to sign a three-year

00:54contract with Burnley instead of a two-year contract from the Welsh FA.
