If you didn't know who Bob Villam were last week, most of us certainly do now.
00:05
The incredibly controversial set at Glass and Brie Festival over the weekend has hit every headline,
00:10
and conversations over their actions have made their way here to the Senate.
00:14
Their chants have been taken as anti-Semitic, inciting violence and offensive to the Jewish community.
00:19
Welsh Tory leader Darren Miller has called on the First Ministers to weigh in on the controversy,
00:23
as well as the recent protests outside the Senate in support of Palestine.
00:26
Those were scenes that were broadcast by the publicly funded BBC,
00:32
and they showed a so-called artist calling for, and I quote,
00:36
death, death to the IDF, and for Palestine to be free, quote, from the river to the sea.
00:44
Those chants were repeated by a huge crowd at that huge music festival,
00:50
and even outside the Senate today, those chants have been repeated at a protest,
00:56
which was attended by Labour and Plaid MS's.
00:59
It is not right to stir up hatred against any community, and it frankly is illegal,
01:04
which is why there is a police inquiry going on at the moment, and that is absolutely the right thing to do.
01:10
Greenland Festival might just cause a bit of a stir after everything that went down in Glastonbury this year.
01:15
With the festival set to take place in August, having kneecap on the line-up,
01:19
one of the members of the Irish language rap group is facing charges for supporting a prescribed organisation,
01:24
and Darren Miller doesn't want them anywhere near the festival.
01:28
A festival which has benefited from significant financial support from the Welsh Government over a number of years,
01:35
including the purchase of the land near Crick Howell for over £4 million to support the festival's projects.
01:42
Now, this year, the organisers have chosen to invite the rap group, kneecap.
01:48
I do think they need to think very carefully about who they invite,
01:51
and the potential problems that may arise if they are to use that as a platform to divide people and to talk hatred.
02:01
So I do think it's important that they consider that.
02:04
But let me just make it clear, the Welsh Government does not pay for the artists in Greenland.
02:10
On the other side of recent news is the welfare reforms.
02:13
The Plaid Cymru leader Sreenath Yorworth wants to know why Aline Ed Morgan now supports recent concessions on the bill,
02:19
which could still mean thousands of people lose out on support.
02:22
I'm interested in why the First Minister said last-minute changes to the reforms to try to avoid a catastrophic vote,
02:32
not because of a letter of hers, of course, but welcome concessions.
02:36
The Cabinet member responsible spent a lot of time on the weekend talking to the Minister responsible
02:41
about how they can look at the model we use in Wales in terms of co-production
02:46
to make sure that we land this in a place that balances the need and the desire of disabled people to get into work
02:56
and the need for us to provide that support.
03:00
Thank you very much.
