People go, oh, AI is going to kill us.
00:01
It's like, it probably isn't.
00:02
But what will kill us is climate change if we don't act.
00:05
And actually, if you put all the data into the AI models
00:08
and said, should we do something about this or not,
00:11
they would all say, no, you should probably
00:13
do something about that quite quickly,
00:15
or you will be extinct.
00:16
I am the founder and CEO of the Brandtech Group.
00:19
We're the world's largest digital-only marketing
00:21
group and the world's largest generative AI marketing
00:23
company.
00:24
And I've had a kind of career on the one side
00:27
working with a lot of the large agencies globally.
00:30
And I guess the other side of what I've done
00:32
is always done a lot of work in and around charity and purpose.
00:36
And back in 2009, I founded One Young World
00:39
with Kate Robertson, which today is the world's largest charity
00:42
for young leaders striving change.
00:44
I'm an optimist, but the one thing I'm not optimistic about
00:46
is climate and the lack of action.
00:48
And if you have been born lucky, which I clearly have,
00:51
I can't do anything about that.
00:52
But what I can do is I can use the position I've been given
00:54
to do good in the world.
00:55
I'm passionate about what the creative industries
00:58
and what creativity can do to drive change in the world.
01:01
We're not naive enough to believe,
01:02
oh, we've created One Young World
01:04
and we've solved all the world's problems.
01:06
But there's some amazing stuff already starting to happen,
01:09
and I really feel like we're just getting going.
01:11
Today, One Young World has impacted the lives
01:15
of over 50 million people.
01:17
The breadth and depth of initiatives
01:19
that the One Young World leaders are doing around areas
01:22
from refugees, to climate, to gender equality,
01:26
to anti-rape laws being passed.
01:28
I mean, we've had Time 100 members,
01:31
we've had multiple Nobel Peace Prize nominees,
01:35
and it's just an amazing generation.
01:38
People often say they're the future leaders.
01:39
Like, no, they're not, they're leading now.
01:41
They're already driving the change.
01:43
And I think Kate, my co-founder, grew up in South Africa,
01:47
and she kind of nailed it almost by saying like,
01:49
if we get this right, we'll find the next Mandela.
01:52
Thank you.
