00:00Space Marine 2 is a third-person action shooter set in the grim, dark future of Warhammer
00:1240,000 that puts you in the middle of a war against the tyrannies that control an imperial
00:17solar system.
00:23You're right in the thick of the action and hopefully people never experienced that kind
00:26of aspect of the Warhammer world.
00:29When we feel that it is the combination of all the things that we've worked so hard for
00:34so many years to do, come to life.
00:37We wanted action in the sky, on the land, we wanted flames, we wanted explosions, it
00:42is a passion piece for all of the people working at Sabre.
00:49When I started working on the story I spent months reading Black Library novels like No
00:53No Fear to really get my head inside these characters, to understand the Ultramarines,
00:58who they are.
01:03So the Space Marines were created for that great crusade, they were a necessary component
01:08in a war for galactic unity and the Ultramarines are one of the most iconic and famous of those
01:14Space Marine forces that have endured through the 10,000 years from their creation at the
01:18great crusade to the stagnation of the 41st millennium.
01:24Most human beings in this world will never see a Space Marine, they're the stuff of legends,
01:28they're known as the angels of death and so when one appears on the battlefield, it's
01:33like seeing an angel of God.
01:38It's angels.
01:39So Titus is a lieutenant in our game.
01:42My pledge is eternal service.
01:46He's sort of a relic of a time once past.
01:50This guy is an unstoppable force, but you've also got to find some kind of grit and hardness
01:59that shows that he's been there, done that, seen more than all the other Ultramarines
02:02he's now in this unit with.
02:04So we did the best we could in motion capture, but it is very different when you get to see
02:08these amazing graphics on the screen and what hundreds and hundreds of people who work for
02:11Saber Interactive come up with and create.
02:14It's incredible.
02:15Lieutenant Titus, Ultramarines, Second Company.
02:19For me to go right back to the bare basics of what acting is about and just be in an
02:23empty space, but on the day, it's about creating it and giving it a base of reality.
02:28Lieutenant Titus, praise the Omnisire.
02:31Shut it down.
02:33Now.
02:34It's your journey, you're the player, you're with Titus and the Ultramarines.
02:38If you can't connect to their faces when their helmets are off and you can't read those emotions,
02:43then there's something lacking and that's my job is to try and bring these guys to life.
02:48I think as the player is going to see a very, very different Titus.
02:53If we rupture the staging tanks, direct the flow into the valley, we can flood the area
02:58around the base.
02:59Right from the very beginning, we didn't just want to create any third person shooter.
03:05We wanted to create a game that embodied the galactic warfare that you come to know from
03:10this franchise.
03:12So the technology that drives Space Marine 2 is our own technology.
03:24So the team's gotten very, very good at creating signature moments in this game and the signature
03:29moment is the swarm.
03:31We have a swarm technology that allows us to have hundreds of these tyranids attacking
03:36the player and we're also able to build a huge expanse where you have highly detailed
03:44characters and models up close which you can see off in the distance.
03:47You can see that swarm coming at you.
03:49You can see the enemy waves coming at you and you will get down and dirty, blowing them
03:54all away.
03:56You feel like you have an infinite universe in front of you.
04:00You have sandbox games where you can wander around but this goes one step further.
04:04It kind of almost feels like wherever you are in the action, wherever you look, there
04:08is another company of marines down there fighting off swarms of tyranids and you've got up there
04:14we've got ships delivering and launching and drop ships landing and everything's around
04:19you.
04:20One of the things people love about this world is the ability to customize your character.
04:26You take these little miniatures, you pose them the way you want, you give them the weapons
04:29that you want, you paint them the way you want.
04:32We wanted to take that same approach and put it in the game so you can do the same
04:36thing with your character.
04:37The game offers three modes, a co-op story campaign that you can play with your friends,
04:42a highly replayable PvE mode with lots of progression and customization and a PvP mode
04:47that puts you against other players.
04:49The more you play these PvE missions, the deeper you can go into the progression of
04:53these characters, unlocking skills and perks and weapons.
04:57As you do that, our famous AI director is able to increase the challenge, throw tougher
05:02enemies at you in more challenging situations.
05:05As you've seen with some of our other titles, we have a track record of supporting our titles
05:11through quality of life updates, through paid DLC and larger add-ons.
05:17So with Space Marine 2, because the universe is so rich and there's so much to draw from,
05:22we're really excited about what story we can tell and what things we can continue to do
05:27in this game.
05:29The truth is that we've been kind of circling like sharks around Games Workshop for a long
05:33time trying to get a hold of this game.
05:37We believe at Saber that we have the story, the gunplay, the technology, the experience
05:43and the passion to deliver what fans want.
05:46So I'm scared, but I'm excited.
05:49Our team is, you know, they love working on this game.
05:52It's one of their favorite games that they've ever worked on.
05:54So to see what 10 years of development on that Space Marine engine franchise story is
06:00going to be like for Space Marine 2, I think everybody involved with Warhammer is really,
06:03really excited to see that.
06:05No matter what the fans are asking for, trust me, we're asking for even more.
