00:00Officials in Ukraine say at least 11 people were killed in Russian attacks across the
00:18country on Saturday.
00:22Moscow has stepped up airstrikes in a bid to drain Ukraine's resources, often targeting
00:27energy facilities and other vital infrastructure.
00:31The Ukrainian air force said on Saturday that it had downed 10 Russian drones launched in
00:37overnight attacks.
00:40Meanwhile Russian officials said at least five people had been killed in Ukrainian strikes
00:45in the Kursk region.
00:56Guns in the air, balaclavas on their faces, Haiti's gangs parade and chant through the
01:01streets of Port-au-Prince.
01:03The only recognisable face is Jimmy Chirizier, the spokesman for the criminal gangs.
01:09He has condemned the arrival of a foreign intervention mission on the territory Tuesday.
01:13It's his declaration of war towards the first contingent of 400 Kenyan police officers who
01:19are here on a one-year peacekeeping mission.
01:22The UN-backed intervention is the fourth to fight gang violence on the island and will
01:26see police and soldiers join from other countries like the Bahamas, Bangladesh, Benin and Chad.
01:41Sudan's paramilitary rapid support forces say they've captured an important city in
01:45the south-east.
01:46They now claim to have taken over Sinjar, which is the capital of Sana'a state.
01:50The Sudanese army, though, says it's still fighting in that area.
01:54Meanwhile, thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes due to the fighting between
01:58the army and the RSF.
02:00This conflict has already created the world's largest displacement crisis.
02:04According to a UN-backed study, nearly 26 million people, half of Sudan's population,
02:09are facing acute food insecurity with 755,000 on the brink of starvation.
02:50Seven people, including five children, have been killed in the latest mudslides in Kyrgyzstan
03:20and Central Asia.
03:21Massive rescue and evacuation operations are underway in the country that has faced the
03:27brunt of what many experts have termed the outcome of climate change.
03:32Floods, avalanches and landslides are a regular feature here.
03:46Now the second phase of a controversial plan to deport Afghan refugees from Pakistan is
03:51set to begin.
03:52More than 800,000 Afghans could be expelled.
03:55If they don't leave voluntarily, they will face arrest and deportation.
04:01More than 541,000 were forced to leave in the initial phase, which began last November.
04:07Around 3.1 million Afghan refugees are still living in Pakistan.
04:11An estimated 1.7 million of them are undocumented.
04:16In North Korea, those watching South Korean dramas and movies or listening to songs must
04:29do so at the risk of their own lives.
04:33For the first time, the Ministry of Unification has made public the record of an execution
04:37of a person violating North Korea's law on rejecting reactionary thought and culture.
04:43Enacted in late 2020, the law bans North Koreans from watching foreign content that
04:48the regime believes potentially poses a threat to it.
04:51The ministry released its latest report on the human rights situation in North Korea
04:55on Thursday, and it included the case of a 22-year-old male being executed for violating
05:01the recent law.
