Will the Lakers Draft Bronny James? Legs had thoughts.

00:08I love that.

00:09I love the question and what I just said absolutely makes that

00:11a valid question.

00:12Here's why I think in this particular case, it'd be a smart

00:16thing for the Lakers to do.

00:18And yeah, it does.

00:19There is one guy that won't get his name called that probably

00:21deserves it over Bronny James.

00:23That's the truth.

00:24A lot of people don't know if Bronny James is an NBA player.

00:26He certainly isn't right now.

00:29And maybe he will never become one.

00:30Maybe he will.

00:31That remains to be seen.

00:32But here's why it makes sense for the Lakers with the 55th

00:35pick. And as I described earlier, you need guys that can

00:38help you.

00:38Now, the chances of getting out with the 55th pick are slim,

00:42very slim.

00:43And if that's the case, why not take a guy that is going to

00:48put LeBron James into a good space mentally when you've only

00:52got him a couple more years probably do that.

00:55If that's what it takes.

00:56Is it a little bit distracting for JJ Redick?

00:59Yeah, it is.

01:00Is it unfortunate for somebody who won't have their name

01:03called? Yes, that's unfortunate for that particular player,

01:06but I do think it makes sense for the Lakers to do it if

01:09he is there.

01:10You know, I had some fun with this earlier though, Jim.

01:14You know who picks 54th, the pick right before that?

01:18The Boston Celtics.

01:19Now, we know this is one of the greatest rivalries in sports.

01:21Could you imagine if the Boston Celtics at 54 take Bronny

01:25James and then they write a handwritten letter to LeBron

01:29saying we've got your son like almost like a ransom, right?

01:33And then you say if you want him back, we're going to need

01:36Austin Reeves.

01:38Great.

01:38I love it.

01:39Like if you're the Celtics, right?

01:40No, we're just joking about it, but I don't think anybody

01:43else takes them.

01:44I don't think anybody takes them.

01:46I think he'll be on the board at 55 and it's the whole reason

01:49you're watching the second round of the NBA draft tonight

01:52is for that moment in time, right?

01:54It's historic.

01:55And we also just want to say, hey, are the Lakers really

01:58going to do this?

01:58And I think they should if he's there.
