00:00Day One Rakyat Speaker Johari Abdul's office has been notified about six Bersatu MPs ceasing

00:07to be party members.

00:09Bersatu Chief Whip Ronald Keandi said the notice was submitted and received by the Speaker's

00:13office today.

00:15He said Johari now has no choice but to declare the six seats vacant and inform the Election

00:20Commission about the need for by-elections as a precedent had been set by the Kelantan

00:24Assembly Speaker yesterday with the Negeri state seat.

00:28According to the Federal Constitution, Keandi said the Speaker needs to ensure that the

00:32unexpected vacancies have occurred within 21 days of receiving the notice.

00:38He also said confirmation of these unexpected vacancies must be respected as Section 18C

00:43of the Society's Act states that the decision of a political party on any matter relating

00:47to its affairs shall be final and conclusive.

00:51Keandi was referring to the six Bersatu MPs who have declared support for Prime Minister

00:56Anwar Ibrahim.

00:57They are Azizi Abu Nain, Syed Abu Hussein Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal, Dr. Zulkhaferi Hanapi,

01:03Sahari Kecik, Iskandar Zulkarnain Abdul Khalid, and Suhaili Abdul Rahman.
