00:00What are you doing?
00:02Go, go, go!
00:04Why? Why?
00:06Do you not read the screen?
00:08Do you not read the screen?
00:10Do you not read the screen?
00:12Do you not read the screen?
00:20Has this ever happened to you on the road?
00:22Many of these altercations
00:24occur due to a lack of awareness
00:26of proper road safety.
00:28If you've stumbled upon
00:30these videos posted by the social media
00:32page Driving for Dummies,
00:34meet the man behind them.
00:3629-year-old Amar Anas
00:38is on a simple mission
00:40to help fellow Malaysian drivers
00:42learn the do's and don'ts of the road
00:44in the friendliest way possible.
00:46Having started this page
00:48in 2023, his videos
00:50now gain thousands,
00:52sometimes even millions of views.
00:54He calls out everyday
00:56mistakes Malaysian drivers make
00:58then breaks them down on how to do it right.
01:00From merging into traffic
01:02and navigating roundabouts
01:04to stopping for pedestrians
01:06and understanding signboards.
01:08What moved me to start this
01:12page Driving for Dummies
01:14is that nowadays
01:16I kept seeing
01:18a lot of news
01:20involving accidents
01:22and a lot of things that
01:24really affected me personally
01:26because it could happen to anyone
01:28your closest circle
01:30or something like that right
01:32so I don't want that to happen.
01:34Amar who is based
01:36in Kuala Lumpur
01:38uses a phone
01:40on a neck mount, a dash cam
01:42and a 360 degree camera
01:44on his bike to capture his daily journeys
01:46such as commuting to work.
01:48My main motive
01:50is to ensure
01:52that everyone who used
01:54to share the road
01:56with everyone knows how to use it
01:58safely and properly
02:00not make it a negative
02:04you know
02:06environment on the road
02:08because every time we get on the road
02:10and behind the wheel
02:11we tend to get a bit defensive
02:12because we are scared of these people
02:14so instead of being scared
02:16how about we become
02:18a better driver
02:20a positive driver
02:22who adhere to the rules
02:24so that people are happy
02:26driving because driving is actually
02:28the road
02:30if the experience is great right
02:32Just by reading
02:34through the comments section
02:36Amar has realized
02:37that many Malaysians
02:38share similar struggles
02:39on the road
02:40Sometimes I get people saying
02:43that I just learned about this
02:45I never learned about this
02:46in driving schools
02:48so I also relate to that
02:51because I never
02:53I don't remember being taught about
02:56using the roundabout properly
02:58at driving schools
03:00so I only learn about it
03:03after the driving school
03:05and also being
03:06honked at the roundabout
03:07so oh okay
03:08did I do something wrong
03:09so I didn't know
03:10so that's when I get
03:11on the internet
03:12and research
03:13how do you use
03:14the roundabout properly
03:17Having traveled to western countries
03:19Amar also feels
03:20that the mindset
03:21of Malaysian drivers
03:22needs to change
03:23Mainly people are now
03:28rushing to go
03:30almost everywhere
03:32unnecessarily
03:33even during
03:34you know
03:35peak hours
03:36or weekends
03:38people tend to rush
03:40everywhere
03:41and I think
03:43people
03:44forgot how to slow down
03:46a little bit
03:47FMT Lifestyle
03:50tagged along with Amar
03:51on a drive
03:52and it was genuinely
03:53calm and collected
03:55no road rage
03:56no tailgating
03:57just smooth driving
04:01So KL
04:02and especially Penang drivers
04:04it's time to pick up
04:05a tip or two
04:07Amar explains however
04:08that he's not out
04:09to shame anyone
04:10remember that conflict
04:12you saw at the start
04:13he actually met up
04:14with the driver
04:15to make amends
04:16and urges netizens
04:24and urges netizens
04:25to avoid online bullying
04:27the main thing is
04:29i hope that
04:30there will be
04:31less road accidents
04:33and a more
04:34more enjoyable
04:35driving experience
04:36here in Malaysia
04:37For Amar
04:38this journey of content creation
04:40has been truly meaningful
04:42there is one moment
04:43that actually made me cry
04:44cry. One of my friends came up to me after meeting, after not meeting for so long. He
04:49said, hey, I stopped for pedestrian because of your video. I just knew that we should
04:56stop for pedestrian. And I feel so happy. I mean, he felt so happy for stopping for
05:00pedestrian. So I was like, oh, yeah, I was happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy.
