Firemen removed a monitor lizard that became stuck down the side of a home trying to chase a rat in Indonesia.The wildlife officers were called to the property when the owner discovered the reptile struggling to crawl out of the gap between two walls in South Sulawesi on June 12.Footage shows the team probing the narrow space between houses. One of them walked inside and reached for the animal that was trapped inside.He pulled the lizard out and was pinned down by a pole with a clamp on the ground when it tried to escape them. The rescue team evacuated the reptile away from houses and released it into the forest.Indonesia has a diverse range of monitor lizard species due to its tropical climate and large archipelago of islands. The Asian water monitor is one of the most common and widespread monitor lizards in Indonesia found across major regions.
