South Australia announces a ban all political donations

The Electoral (Accountability and Integrity) Amendment Bill 2024 would ban the giving and receiving of donations to parties, MPs and candidates.

00:06to reform the funding of elections in South Australia, specifically with regard to political

00:13donations. And when I say reform, allow me to be very clear. I am not talking about capping

00:24political donations. I am not talking about limiting the number of donations, or restricting

00:32where donations come from. Nor am I announcing a new transparency regime around electoral

00:40donations, because tonight I announce that we seek to ban all political donations full

00:48stop. And we're not banning them from some people, or some companies. We're banning them

00:56from everyone. I don't care if you're a cigarette company or a shoe store, whether you burn
