Ollie Westbury on Chey Dunkley's 'surprising' destination after Shrewsbury departure

00:00Shea Dunkley is another one, Oli, who has gone out of the tour at the Craigmeadow. Another

00:14one that was kind of expected. I think given the fact that he'd done really well for Salop,

00:18he'd come from a high level, I think a lot of supporters expected him to maybe stay in

00:22League One or even attract sort of interest in the bottom end championship, I'm not too

00:28sure, but certainly top end League One. As it transpires, he's gone to Chesterfield in

00:34League Two, just come back up to League Two. Was that a little bit of a surprise, really,

00:40Oli? Everyone expected him to go, but does it leave a little bit of a, not a sour taste,

00:45but the fact that he's dropped down in the division makes it sort of maybe a little bit

00:48more difficult to swallow that the Salop skipper has departed?

00:53No, I don't think so. I don't think it matters too much where he's going to. I, like you,

00:58am surprised that he's gone to go and play for a side that's come out of the National

01:03League last year. His choice, I suppose, is it to do with the length of the contract?

01:10Who knows. Is it because he's been offered three years on decent wages? Probably. I would

01:17have thought that that's got a lot to do with it. Shea Dunkley, like Marco, was a good

01:22servant to Shrewsbury and pretty much played every game over his two years stint at the

01:28club. I thought that he could have got a high end League One move. Would a high end League

01:34One side have been able to have offered him the amount of years that he would have wanted

01:38or the security that he would have wanted? Probably not. I would have said it's the years

01:43and the security that probably plays such an important factor into why he has decided

01:49to join Chesterfield. Obviously he's worked with manager Paul Cook before, so I would

01:52have thought that that will also have an impact. We'll have to see how that one pans out, but

01:59for sure it's kind of surprising to see that maybe there wasn't a little bit more interest

02:04higher up the pyramid because he certainly did a good job while he was at Shrewsbury.
