This Could Be The Future of Rocket-Propelled Rescue Missions

Rugged terrain is no match for a first responder suited for flight.

00:00It's not a bird and it's not a plane.

00:06This is first responder Jamie Walsh and recently he had the first successful test mission using

00:11a jet suit designed by innovation aeronautics company Gravity Industries.

00:15British paramedics are hoping that this device will eventually help in search and rescue

00:19and first response missions in areas like this one which are mountainous and rugged.

00:24In this test the pilot flew around 1.1 miles over the Lake District in the UK.

00:28But the most amazing thing is that Walsh only had 6 days of training prior to the flight

00:33revealing the ease in which most pilots can take to the skies.

00:36Gravity Industries first began testing for this type of mission back in September but

00:40this newly crafted 3D printed model boasts improved specs from the previous one including

00:45more maneuverability as well as more powerful turbine engines.
