01:11Bardia is one of those fighters, his wind has come from just, he's again a pressure fighter.
01:17What he's got up his sleeve is exactly that, the fact that Joel Lewis fought his teammate twice,
01:23and this is where, see Bardia, that's where he wants to be, on his chest rushing forward,
01:28and that's where it's obviously dangerous for him as well.
01:31One of the fights that we called in 2022 against Marcus Suman,
01:34Marcus Suman got off to a really good start in that fight,
01:37they'd run out of gas, and then the cardio and the grit as you were talking about.
01:42Because he just wears them down.
01:43Exactly, and that's how he won that fight.
01:46And this is where you can see the skill level at the moment for Joel,
01:49he's got good footwork, good evasive talent, and obviously he's clearly got the power as well.
01:56And Bardia won't stop coming, he said his cardio is not an issue,
02:00it's probably his style early on in the fight that is, that we've spotted a number of times calling his fights.
02:08But again, he's got a ton of heart and he keeps on coming,
02:10he will not stop, if you basically let him into later rounds,
02:14and again this one is scheduled for 6, you give him every opportunity to get back into it.
02:20And Joel's doing well, he's a young fighter as well,
02:22so he hasn't got any knockouts at the moment, so for him to,
02:26and this is not where he wants to get in, and that's what, as you said, this is the contrast in fights.
02:32That Joel wants to sit on this outside here box, find him at range,
02:35which is how he's able to drop his opponent.
02:37He doesn't want to get caught in the messy, scrappy Bardia style fight.
02:43Contrasting years, I said again, Joel Lewis had a fantastic 2023,
02:47bursting on the scene with 3 wins,
02:49Bardia was supposed to have 3 fights, and that's one of the ones where he turned up to Perth Metro City,
02:54his opponent pulled out on the night of the fight,
02:58we got him in there and interviewed him, to sort of thank him for his,
03:01because he went through a full weight camp, went through the weigh-in and everything.
03:05Didn't find anything until he turned up at the venue.

03:19That was a pretty clear round to score, I mean what a start to this one,
03:22we've already seen it on the replay, it happened very early on,
03:25but it was a beautiful straight left that put Bardia on his back in the own corner for Joel Lewis.
03:32Joel Lewis, look at that, that was a fantastic punch, and had Bardia Son-Yol stunned.

03:44I just like the fact that, even though being a young fighter,
03:47I really like the composure for Joel, to not really rush it,
03:51because that really would have turned it into what Bardia wants, that scrappy, messy fight,
03:56and I think that Joel's really got to just stay composed,
03:59he's very calm, he's got a great corner,
04:02Mattick Boyd, he's got Stevie Willis in the corner,
04:06he does a lot of hard sparring down at Pinky's gym in Mairi,
04:09so anyone down Mairi way, they can look up Pinky's gym, they're looking for boxing in.
04:15I just like that he showed the composure to just not rush it,
04:19I think that he can find the knockout,
04:20I think that if he can continue to set up his jab and look for that straight left hand in the middle,
04:24he'll find it, just there it is, that straight left hand.
04:27It's a very similar punch to the knockdown.
04:30This is where Bardia, but this is where he's susceptible,
04:35because he's got the chin up in the air while he's trying to swing,
04:38and I'd just like to see Joel sit down on the punch,
04:40nail that straight left hand down the pipe, and it's going to land.
04:44Again, as soon as the bell sounded ready for round two,
04:47Sonja was out, ready to go.
04:51There it is there, this is where, exactly,
04:54and Stevie was just called out, let him just walk on with the straight left hand,
04:58because that will happen.

06:27right there, so that he can nail him with those straight left hands.
06:30Like that, and Bardiel's got to try and find a way,
06:32and there it is again.
06:33And Bardiel's got to find a way to stop that happening
06:35and smother that work, which is what he's trying to do here.
06:44And what Joel Lewis is impressive at the moment,
06:48he's not letting Bardiel get into his game.
06:55His head movements have been great,
06:56he's been able to catch him on the counter,
06:58and he's not able to let Bardiel instill his game on this fight.

07:22What advice would you be giving Bardiel Sanyo,

07:26First things first, I'd say, mate, you need to put your chin on your chest.
07:29You've got to stop putting your head up in the air,
07:32you've got to put your chin on your chest,
07:33tuck it in nice and tight, cover up.
07:36Is that just a habit thing?
07:37Because we've seen that so many fights.
07:39It's really poor habit.
07:40It's something that you've got to get rid of from the get-go.
07:43It's like what they say with athletes that run,
07:45you've got to keep your head straight.
07:46If they don't get rid of that from an early age,
07:48you get the Olympics, it's not going.
07:50It's definitely a poor habit of Bardiel.
07:52He works on it well, but when he gets into that range,
07:56he seems to lift up and then just start to swing,
07:58and that's where he's really got to tuck in.
08:00The advice I'd be giving would be to tuck your chin on your chest,
08:03hands up, elbows in, move,
08:05try to smother the work that Joel's doing.
08:08And if I was, again, it would be the complete opposite for Sivu.
08:11I'd be saying, listen, he's going to try to tuck down.
08:14You need to keep the range.
08:15I want you to sit some uppercuts up into the punch
08:17and then follow up with your straight left hand,
08:19because that's what's winning for you at the moment.
08:21At the moment, even though we're two rounds into the fight,
08:24Joel doesn't need to change a lot.
08:26The fight's working the way he wants it to work at the moment.
