00:00Are there any questions?
00:02Yes, sir.
00:11Well, the same Republicans were saying the same thing about the Roe versus Wade,
00:16and then it got repealed in the Dobbs decision.
00:20And Justice Thomas, in his concurring opinion,
00:24said that the Supreme Court should now take up contraception as well.
00:29And across the country, from Virginia to Arizona to Iowa to Idaho,
00:34at the state legislative level, they're moving to put restrictions on contraception.
00:40So it's just the opposite.
00:42Contraception is under assault in our country,
00:46even though the Griswold decision is now 59 years old.
00:53So we're going to have contraception day here in the United States Senate,
00:57and everyone's going to be put on record.
01:00And if they say it's not under threat, then they should all just vote yes
01:05in order to reaffirm that right.
01:07Questions? Yes, ma'am.
01:09Well, that's the same thing that Governor Youngkin said in Virginia.
01:31Then he vetoed the contraception bill.
01:33So let's see what they do out here today.
01:35Let's see if they vote for contraception.
01:37We're going to give them a chance, up or down, yes or no.
01:41Today is contraception day in the history of the United States Senate.
01:44Yes, sir.
01:57First of all, it's not true.
02:00All this legislation does is to give an individual the right to access to contraception
02:07and the right for a provider to be able to provide contraception for individuals.
02:13There is no religious issue that's part of this legislation at all.
02:20Questions?
02:21Thank you all so much for being here.
