The implementation of the QR code in the immigration clearance of Malaysian travellers has been encouraging with almost 70,000 registering to use the trial system to hasten passport clearing at the border crossing with Singapore.

01:09 The immigration department said although the system began on Saturday,
01:13 travellers could already start trying out the QR code system three days ago.
01:19 Travellers can register by using the MySejahtera app and clicking the MyTrip app in it.
01:25 They are then required to link their passport, answer a few questions and snap a photo of the passport.
01:31 If successful, the personal details of the traveller will appear
01:35 and the traveller is required to click 'View MyTrip QR' to generate the QR code at the scanners.
01:41 The QR code clearance system is expected to cut down the time needed to clear a bus full of passengers
01:47 at the Sultan Abu Bakar CIQ complex by more than 75%.
