Elections européennes : que veulent les électeurs et que promettent les candidats

A l'approche du scrutin de juin, Euronews demande aux électeurs de citer une proposition qu'ils feraient s'ils étaient élus au Parlement européen, et questionne les candidats sur ce qu'ils s'engagent à faire s'ils sont élus ou réélus.

00:00Hello, my name is Ana Leticia Arenas. I'm a Spanish lawyer and junior female leader ambassador.

00:12We all know that a tree without roots is doomed to disappear. That is why if I were elected

00:17as a member of the European Parliament, I would be firmly committed to defending the

00:20European values that the founding fathers of the European Union, such as de Gasperi or

00:25Schumann, placed at the heart of this great project. Protecting our European industry,

00:29both small and medium-sized businesses, and keeping on building on a Europe in its diversity

00:35would be at the centre of my priorities. Only this way we can ensure a prosperous and creative

00:40future for all European citizens.

00:50If I am re-elected as a member of the European Parliament, I will work to strengthen the

00:55European Union, a union capable of delivering for the citizens, of contributing to solving

01:01the problems of the citizens. I want a European Union that protects. That means we have to

01:06invest more in security and defence. And to be able to protect the citizens, we need a

01:11strong economy. I will work to strengthen the competitiveness, to facilitate investments

01:17in Europe. And for all of this to be possible, for Europe to be able to reach its objectives,

01:23it also needs a robust budget of the European Union.
