Star Media Group Bhd (SMG) has been conferred an award by the World Digital Chamber and KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific for its trailblazing efforts in becoming the first media house in the region to launch an electronic newspaper. 00:37 the first in Malaysia.

00:39 And it has grown so much.

00:41 And a lot of people now read the e-paper.

00:44 And many of my friends always say the first thing they do

00:49 in the morning is to get the e-paper first,

00:52 read it first before they even go to work and all that.

00:55 I think papers always like to keep innovating.

00:58 But I think Star has been taking the leadership role

01:01 in technology and innovation and done very well.

01:05 So many of my friends in the UK and Australia

01:08 and even in Canada who are subscribers to the e-paper,

01:11 and every time they wake up, they read the e-paper.

01:14 They want to keep it in touch with Malaysia.

01:19 I think one of the major advantages for e-paper

01:22 is that you can reach worldwide.

01:24 That's right.

01:25 Compared to print.

01:27 So today, the world is borderless.

01:31 Something that can be convenient for people

01:35 to pick up the news and all this by providing the e-copy,

01:40 I think it's definitely something that we should

01:43 put more effort into.
