00:03 Late night in San Diego.
00:05 It's the Padres and the Yankees.
00:07 New York bouncing back to split a four game series in the midweek with Seattle.
00:12 So the Yankees now have won nine of their last 11 games as they make the long trip
00:17 to San Diego.
00:19 The Pinstripes booked as a slight road favorite minus 116 with Carlos Rodon on
00:24 the bump.
00:24 The over under seven and a half.
00:26 You Darvish was sensational in his last start - 102 on the money line for the
00:31 Padres DRS full cross-country trip for the Yanks who played all be it a day
00:37 baseball game, but a game yesterday.
00:41 No off day in between will that have an effect on this outcome tonight in San
00:45 Diego?
00:46 I don't know if I have an effect overall just the way we put it there.
00:50 But if we just take a look at the lineups here one line of coming in
00:52 absolutely red hot in the Yankees the other line up here for the San Diego
00:55 Padres against left-handed pitching absolutely ice-cold.
00:58 So you're starting right there, but let's take a look at the pitching
01:01 matchups and where that makes sense you Darvish as you pointed out sensational.
01:04 You want to take a look at the last 30 days fantastic.
01:07 You want to take a look at the full season fantastic, but also right-handed
01:10 pitching the Yankees been have absolutely feasted on that.
01:13 Look at the top six guys in this lineup, which I love for the New York Yankees
01:17 typically on a night-to-night basis Volpe Soto judge for Duggo Stanton and
01:21 Rizzo ISO power numbers here.
01:23 198 325 Aaron Jojo 417 230 243 and 225 respectively over the last 30 days.
01:30 The Yankees are it but then again, we just told you how good you Darvish has
01:33 been we're also not playing in the Bronx, which means like oh, look at this
01:37 maybe 80 degree temperatures on the East Coast little humidity baked in maybe
01:40 a wind blowing out in the true hitters ballpark.
01:42 You're playing out there Petco and that is not a great ballpark to hit at and
01:46 tonight's temperatures 63 degrees with a wind that is blowing in if we flip it
01:50 over to San Diego at the plate.
01:52 They haven't hit left-handed pitching all that.
01:53 Well, however, Carlos Rodon has struggled with right-handed batters over the past
01:57 month.
01:58 The problem is everybody in that lineup has been struggling against lefties here.
02:01 The only bright spot jerks and pro floor at 273 ISO power number through 35 at
02:06 bats against left-handed pitching.
02:07 That's your RBI look but if you hear what I'm saying you did tonight, it's
02:11 probably an under game.
02:12 Listen you Darvish has been incredible.
02:15 He is one his last four starts.
02:17 He is four and one this year with a 208 era his for his last four
02:22 starts.
02:22 He is not allowed a single earned run not a single earned run in 24 innings of
02:29 work.
02:29 In fact, the Padres have won the game overall in his last six starts.
02:34 I find it slightly intriguing San Diego is the underdog now.
02:39 We go to the trough where the Rays on a four-game skid the Royals red hot Casey
02:44 is one six straight with a day off entering today in Tampa in the Royals
02:49 with Seth Lugo who has also been great for Kansas City this year a slight Road
02:55 favorite.
02:55 What do you make of the matchup today in the truck?
02:57 By the way, Seth Lugo is the better pitcher on the mound and quite frankly
03:01 you hit that there 258 batters.
03:03 He's faced on the season of 137 ISO and a weighted on base percentage of 269.
03:07 He's been even better over the past 30 days.
03:09 And when you take a look at that Tampa Bay Rays lineup, which over the past
03:11 couple years has been quality against right-handed pitching for the past 30
03:15 days.
03:15 They've been an absolute disaster.
03:18 So you do get a little bit of a thumb up here for the Kansas City Royals on
03:21 that edge.
03:22 But let's take a look at Sean Armstrong due to be on the mound today for Tampa.
03:25 You look at his last 30 days.
03:27 It's been abysmal against left-handed batters people and you're talking about
03:32 the Kansas City Royals.
03:33 It's a couple left-handed batters that we typically like.
03:35 However, let's take a set aside our fandom for the past watch Vinny P.
03:39 Vinny Pasquantino over the last 30 days 81 at bats against right-handed pitching
03:43 hasn't been all that good a 118 ISO on a 263 weighted on base percentage,
03:48 but you know, the other left-handed batter.
03:49 I love in that lineup.
03:50 It's Michael Massey 70 at bats.
03:52 How about this at 239 ISO and a weighted on base percentage of 368.
03:56 He will definitely make my card for an RBI opportunity.
03:59 But sometimes we talk about just the opportunity with players on base.
04:02 If you look at Vinny P.
04:04 We don't actually need a base hit to get an RBI.
04:06 Why Michael Garcia Bobby wit 336 383 weighted on base percentages.
04:11 Those guys should be on the pond by the time Vinny P gets up.
04:14 So maybe an opportunity, but my best one, it's Michael Massey.
04:18 And quite frankly, I would just lay it with the Kansas City Royals tonight.
04:21 They're the better ball club.
04:22 We're just Royals guys.
04:24 It really is what it is.
04:26 KC this year 32 victories 32 and 19.
04:30 It took them till the end of July to win 30 games last year on a tour at
04:34 pace, but still a game and a half behind Cleveland for that top spot in
04:38 the American League Central, despite the Royals winning six in a row
04:41 because the Guardians have also won six in a row Cleveland a slight
04:45 favorite tonight in Anaheim where Donnie thinks I grew up against the
04:49 Angels - 110 for Cleveland.
04:52 Will it be seven straight tonight for the Guardians Orange County Ben?
04:57 That's the new moniker around these parts here.
04:58 Let's take a look at the Los Angeles.
05:00 They just starting pitcher Patrick Sandoval the lefty on the mound.
05:03 He's been really good man 225 225 batters.
05:06 He's faced on the season and ice of 099 combined and a weighted on base
05:10 percentage right around average at 321.
05:12 But in the past 30 days unhittable.
05:14 It feels like Ben 122 batters face in 087 ISO and a 285 weighted on base
05:20 percentage.
05:20 That is absolutely fantastic and take a look at that Guardians lineup.
05:23 Not all that great here against left-handed pitchers.
05:26 If there was one guy you picked out that has done very well.
05:28 It's David Fry with a 550 ISO through 27 at bats left-handed pitching.
05:33 But as I said, this guy Sandoval has been really really good flip it over
05:37 to the other side with chances for maybe RBIs Logan Allen hasn't been
05:40 that great elevated numbers on ISO power numbers around 170, which is
05:44 average but the weighted on base percentage is 367 through a hundred
05:47 eight batters.
05:48 He's faced if we combine left-handed and right-handed batters.
05:51 If we're looking at the lineup tonight, the leadoff batter Chanel 278.
05:55 You take a look at Polar 350.
05:57 Take a look at Adele 591.
05:59 Those guys probably should be in your lineup tonight.
06:01 And I think Nolan Shan you well, I believe is the correct pronunciation
06:06 on this one.
06:06 I bet him a couple times.
06:07 I haven't watched him live to get that, you know response from the PA
06:11 announcer, but that guy should be on your roster tonight.
06:14 Yeah, absolutely.
06:16 So the pronunciation guide will follow tonight in Oakland.
06:20 He has Rose head to take on the a what is it?
06:22 Shan you well, but learning it on the fly here as we go.
06:26 Shan you well, well done.
06:28 Well done Houston tonight in Oakland, by the way, it's the Stroh's versus
06:32 the A's the Astros have won eight of the last ten, but they didn't lose
06:36 their midweek series two of three against those Halos, but Houston a
06:40 hefty Road favorite tonight in Oakland Justin Verlander on the bump.
06:44 Will the Astros get a victory?
06:45 Yeah, the Astros should be in a good spot tonight.
06:48 And again, you see in 15 miles an hour blowing out in Oakland.
06:50 That's every night people don't get excited.
06:51 Like wow, the winds really blowing out the center field.
06:54 It's just what it does.
06:54 They're cooler temperatures each and every night as well.
06:57 Take a look at Ross dribbling on the mat.
06:58 He has struggled a bit with left-handed batters with weighted on base
07:01 percentage.
07:02 It's no better left-handed batter in Major League Baseball right now
07:04 than Kyle Tucker.
07:05 This is what you're supposed to have after 10 at bats.
07:08 He's got 76 at bats over the last month here against right into pitching
07:11 559 ISO power number.
07:15 He is a must then in your lineup tonight for an RBI.
07:18 I've got an important update about Nolan Shonowell next.
07:23 So we have the official pronunciation of the Angels player Nolan
07:29 Shonowell.
07:29 Shonowell.
07:31 I appreciate you trying to give a little bit of flavor to it.
07:34 Shon you well, but just Shonowell for your guy.
07:37 What did you like to know?
07:38 Yeah, a couple RBI guys are.
07:43 Okay.
07:44 There you go.
07:47 I like that.
07:48 Listen, I the worst idea in the world.
07:50 All right.
07:50 Now we keep it rolling.
07:51 NL Central duel this weekend under the arch in St.
07:54 Louis.
07:55 The Redbirds playing pretty good right now.
07:58 The Cubbies just lost their midweek set in the rubber match yesterday
08:01 at home against the Braves.
08:03 But if you need to win a game, shoulda Iminaga is your guy.
08:06 The Cubbies and Iminaga a road favorite in the loo today minus
08:11 142.
08:12 What can we expect out of Iminaga tonight against St.
08:15 Louis?
08:15 Yeah, if I could activate my, you know, little Roadcaster right
08:20 here to have that soundboard up.
08:21 We be having the alerts going off left and right.
08:23 Why you might get a no hitter tonight.
08:25 How about that of the show to Iminaga?
08:27 He's been that dominant on the season 209 batters face in 055
08:31 ISO and waited on base percentage of 221.
08:34 How about the walk ratio against lefties?
08:35 He's faced 47 of them this year hasn't walked a single one of those
08:38 yet striking out 28% of those batters.
08:41 He's been phenomenal.
08:42 Now you say to yourself, okay, takes a pitcher and takes a lineup
08:45 here to match up the lineup today.
08:47 New par Goldschmidt, Arenado, Herrera, Carlson, Donovan, Pages, and
08:50 Ciani all are absolutely horrendous against left-handed pitching.
08:55 Take a look at these ISO power numbers.
08:57 Oh 94, oh 37, oh 38, oh 56, 0, oh 86, 0, and 143.
09:03 The only bright spot is Mason Wynn at the leadoff spot at a 265.
09:07 If he gets behind Mr.
09:08 Wynn, it should be smooth sailing tonight.
09:10 Now, let's flip it over to the Chicago side and say, well, it takes
09:13 two to tangle, which means my guy can throw a no hitter, but we got
09:15 to be able to score some runs should be able to do that against
09:18 Miles Michael is today struggling against lefties, struggling against
09:21 righties, a decent top four, Tauchman, Suzuki, Bellinger, and Morel.
09:25 They should all get base hits with legitimate RBI opportunities.
09:28 This should be a runaway victory for the Chicago Cubs tonight.
09:31 It's a great matchup for them.
09:34 It's a pretty good price on the money line as well.
09:36 Minus 142, Iminaga this year, 5-0 with a 0.84 ERA.
09:43 5-0 with a 0.84 ERA.
09:46 That, of course, is the best in Major League Baseball.
09:50 He has also started nine games for Chicago.
09:53 They're 8-1 straight up in those nine, and you're not paying that
09:57 hefty of a tax on that minus 142 number.
09:59 Love that look tonight in St.
10:01 Louis, the Reds at the bottom of the National League Central, and
10:05 today in Cincy, the Reds are hosting the Dodgers, LA a minus 158,
10:10 favorite total at nine and a half.
10:12 What do you like tonight in a great American ballpark?
10:14 Sooner than later, James Paxson is going to get hit around.
10:17 He's playing with a little bit of fire.
10:18 Take a look at the analytical numbers, X-Fit minus on the card
10:21 today, Ben.
10:21 If we take a look at pitchers over the first 60 days of Major
10:24 League Baseball season with at least 20 innings pitched, he's 27th
10:28 out of 27 on the card today, but as one of the better ERAs at 2.84,
10:32 it doesn't make sense.
10:33 It just means he's getting lucky, which you don't strike out enough
10:36 batters and you walk too many people, but you still do have to have
10:39 an offense that's going to be able to capitalize on that.
10:42 And I don't know if we get that out of the Reds today.
10:44 Tyler Stephenson in the middle of that lineup, Stewart Fairchild
10:46 is going to bat right around seventh.
10:48 The only positive batters I see in the lineup against left-handed
10:51 pitching, at least over the past 30 days.
10:53 Then we flip it over to the Dodgers and say, if I could just get a
10:55 competent effort here out of Paxson, which he has been, non-analytical
10:59 numbers, Graham Ashcraft should be able to get hit from the left-hand
11:02 side. And we talk about left-handed batters over the past 30 days.
11:05 You got two of the best of them right here sitting on the Dodgers.
11:08 That's Shohei Otani, 75 at bats with a .303 ISO power number.
11:11 Freddie Freeman, 74 at bats with a .262 weighted on base percentage.
11:16 The Dodgers should win this game, but I am waiting for the bottom
11:19 to fall out on James Paxson, which hasn't happened yet.
11:21 Maybe it does tonight.
11:22 It just doesn't look great from a Reds perspective.
11:24 That's all.
11:26 Cutter Crawford has been great for the Red Sox.
11:29 Boston at home in Fenway hosting the Brewers. -138 on the money line
11:34 in favor of Boston. Total at 9.5.
11:38 I like Cutter Crawford.
11:40 He's been great this year. The Red Sox a home money line favorite.
11:43 What say you, DRS?
11:44 Yeah, probably a little bit to the Sox tonight. Like that lineup there.
11:47 Durant's been great.
11:48 Abreu's been great.
11:49 Devers has been great.
11:50 That should be enough to lead him.
11:51 Also keep in mind, 75 degrees tonight in Boston with the wind blowing
11:54 up to right field at 9 miles an hour. Advantage to left-handed batters.
11:58 So again, Durant, Abreu, and Devers here.
12:01 We'll see if they can get down to business, but it does technically,
12:03 based on the numbers between both the pitchers and the hitters,
12:06 probably lean more towards an under, but it's a good hitting environment
12:09 up there in Fenway tonight.
12:10 No doubt about that. Got some good weather entering this holiday weekend
12:14 here around the East Coast. I'll be at Citi Field tomorrow.
12:18 We'll be cooking up a best bet for the Mets and the Giants.
12:22 You know, Donny Wright's side will be involved as well.
