Team GB’s Olympic Games ceremony kit has been unveiled ahead of this summer's games, featuring an updated Union Jack design following widespread public backlash. So, how was it received and why was there such an uproar?

00:14 design follows criticism of Bath-based design agency This-A-Way which redesigned the Union Jack

00:21 synonymous with Great Britain. Its colours were changed to pink and purple and the design was

00:27 taken back to the drawing board. This year's kit will feature a specially designed four-nation

00:32 floral motif, a central aspect for our creative expression which pays homage to the identities of

00:40 the four nations. The redesigned symbol representing Great Britain came under fire

00:45 after its colours were changed to refresh the design. Bath-based design agency This-A-Way,

00:51 charged with the design, said they needed to find a way to update the colour palette

00:56 ahead of this year's Paris Olympics.
