Shaun White Teases Big Announcement Coming in June, Plans to Attend Paris Olympics

00:00 It's good, honestly. It's been such a like, a big change in my life and then not too crazy of a change, you know?

00:07 I always, you know, enjoyed my time off the mountain just as much as my time on the mountain

00:13 and being able to like pursue other things in my life and travel for fun, not just for work

00:18 and just to enjoy that sort of moment of, you know, retirement.

00:23 But it's been good. It's been really fun.

00:25 And I got a bunch of stuff in the works coming up June. We're actually making a big announcement that I'm really excited about.

00:31 So stay tuned on that. But yeah, it's been fun.

00:35 It actually like leaves me with this sort of still competitive nature to get out there and do different things, you know?

00:41 It really varies, but I actually talked to a bunch of athletes and they were like, don't stop working out.

00:47 So I'm still working out a ton. I'm still riding a bunch.

00:51 I think that when I work out, I'll admit I only do the exercises I like to do now.

00:56 You know what I mean? I don't like break myself doing all this other stuff to be ready for competition.

01:01 But, you know, I'm doing that. I'm traveling. I started this brand, White Space.

01:06 It's like outerwear, under layer, boards, goggles, stuff like that.

01:11 And it's so fun because I can actually like, you know, work on different products and still be involved in the sport without being competitive.

01:20 Yeah, that's the plan. I mean, she speaks pretty fluent French.

01:24 She's going to hate me for saying that. She's like, it's not fluent. I dabble.

01:28 No, but her mom lives in a town south of France that they call Avignon.

01:32 It's like most beautiful place.

01:35 And and honestly, we did like Europe in the summer and the glitz and glam of these certain places.

01:44 And that was by far one of my favorite places to go.

01:47 It was just it had the old world feel to it with the old buildings and churches and then this beautiful river.

01:54 And I mean, it was it was special place.

01:57 So, yeah, we'll definitely be going hopefully to the Olympics and yeah, hanging out a little bit just because I have to describe it to people.

02:05 But the tension that's at the Olympics, it's like you feel it.

02:08 It's like it's this thick kind of air when you walk into any one of the stadiums where they're competing.

02:15 You feel that sort of pressure and that excitement.

02:20 And I'm so used to it that I think that they're going to be like, Sean, you got to someone pull the hamstring.

02:26 We need you in the pool right now. I'm like, OK, I can do it.

02:30 What stroke is it? So but no, it's it's so much fun.

02:34 And there's so many unique sports. There's fencing, there's volleyball, there's volleyball is actually I thought it would be very tame.

02:42 It is a party. They go nuts at the volleyball events.

02:46 It's so much fun. They pump music in. It's like watching like an NBA game.

02:50 It's super fun. Yeah.
