Charles Kelley Teases Lady A’s Next Chapter as They Enjoy Family Life and a ‘Musical Reset’

00:00We have intentionally, I think, wanted to take some time off. Again, I think we're just all

00:04coming from a place now where we're like, okay, we have been on the hamster wheel for a long,

00:09long time. Let's focus on family. Let's enjoy that kind of musical reset. And when we come back,

00:19we really want to come back with something special and something that maybe we haven't

00:25done before too. And I think that just is going to take some time to find that sound. And so,

00:31you know, I think we're just in a spot in our lives where we don't feel like we have to force it,

00:36you know? You know, people are always going to come to our shows first and foremost to hear the

00:42songs that they've fallen in love with. So, you know, they're coming to the shows that here

00:47need you now. They're coming to hear American Honey. And so if you really want them to come

00:51to listen to something new, you're going to have to really make something special. And so I think

00:56we're going to take our time and really focus on finding that sound over this next year. But we

01:02got some, you know, touring ideas in the works. So there's always going to be that. But we really

01:10do want to make a great record. You know, I told them, I said, look at what Adele does. I mean,

01:14she just makes you wait and wait. And then she just drops a big old bomb on you. And I love that.

01:19So I'm hoping we can, you know, take some time with it and make something special.
